Marshall Point Cottage, classic 5-bedroom Maine cottage with harbor views
A Charming Summer Cottage in Port Clyde Maine
Nestled along the scenic shores of Port Clyde Harbor, our enchanting cottage invites you to step into a world where time slows down and memories are made. Just a short walk from the iconic Marshall Point Lighthouse famously featured in Forrest Gump , this retreat embodies the essence of a traditional Maine vacation.
As you arrive, you'll find yourself on a tranquil private road surrounded by multi-generational family homes each telling its own story. The cottage exudes rustic charm with its antique furnishings and cozy atmosphere. The front porch beckons you to sit back relax and take in the breathtaking views of the harbor where fishing boats come and go creating a picturesque backdrop for your getaway. Inside the first floor welcomes you with a warm and inviting space. A comfortable queen bedroom and a second bedroom with twin beds are perfect for family or friends. The well-equipped kitchen with its charming dining area is ready for you to whip up a fresh lobster dinner or a leisurely breakfast.
After a day of exploring the nearby sandy Drift Inn Beach—just 1.3 miles away—gather in the cozy living room around the wood burning fireplace or on the covered porch to watch the sun dip below the horizon painting the sky in vibrant hues. Venture upstairs to find another queen bedroom and two additional twin bedrooms ideal for children or extra guests. This layout encourages togetherness while still providing private retreats for restful nights. While the cottage maintains its historic charm ,it also offers modern comforts including internet access and a Smart TV for those rare rainy days. However, the true beauty of this escape lies in the chance to disconnect from the bustle of everyday life. Cell service may be spotty but a landline phone is available allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the serenity of your surroundings.
As the sun sets, the covered porch transforms into a magical spot where you can sip a glass of wine listen to the sounds of the harbor and create memories that will last a lifetime. The peaceful yard offers space for games and gatherings and the community dock is just a short stroll away for fishing enthusiasts eager to cast a line. Since opening its doors in 2013, this cottage has become a guest favorite with many families returning year after year, generation after generation, to experience its magic. Reviewer Comments:
Amazing location ... right on the water and could launch kayaks and swim from the back yard! The cottage was cozy and on cooler nights we enjoyed the fire place. The upstairs bedrooms can get stuffy but the AC helped.
