The house arrangement is consistent with all you could hope for in a vacation home. The views to the river, the long deck, the screened in room, the well equipped kitchen, and the quiet surroundings were all appreciated. The location is convenient for day trips to Boothbay Harbor, Freeport, and Popham beach.

We were only here at Ferndale for 4 days, but we all left wishing we could have stayed longer. This is the most peaceful place and the views are spectacular, especially the sunrise over the water from the huge balcony. Everything we needed, we had and Gillian was very attentive and was a perfect host. We left here already planning our next stay.

They thought of everything! Perfect hospitality: wonderful directions for everything in the house, great suggestions for local restaurants and attractions, and the house itself and the view of the Kennebec River were just perfect!! One of my grandchildren said, “The people who own this house are really nice; they thought of all our needs.”

The house is stunning. It’s spacious and well laid out with all the amenities we needed. It’s quiet and we were able to watch a lot of wildlife off the deck overlooking the Kennebec. Close enough to Bath to be convenient, the house was off the beaten path and really gave us a feel of local living. We will come back.

Perfect Long Weekend Away

A group of 8 old friends came together to celebrate our 40th birthdays and decades of friendship. The house was perfect with beautiful views and everything you could want supplied in the house. Gillian was a great and responsive host. After only a day in we were all planning our return.

We stayed at Ferndale for 4 nights and it was the perfect nature getaway. Nestled along the river the view was unbelievable and full of wildlife. Accommodations were very well kept and host was on point. Very clean and very family friendly. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
