Nice place - they've done a nice renovation. Communication with the host was great, he's very responsive. Nice and close to Shands hospital, where our appointment was. Our dog enjoyed her walks in the neighborhood!
The place was roomy and comfortable. The extra bunks in the second bedroom were a plus. It was not as pretty friendly as I would have liked. We didn't use the back yard at all. The host really should impose a fee in guests that leave behind doggy landmines. The algae covered water bowl could be replaced with a pooper scooper and I didn't feel like the fence was in proper shape to hold my small dog. Some of the kitchen ware could also stand to be replaced. Overall, it was fine and the price was right, but I don't think I'll return. A little TLC and attention to detail could go a long way to making this place top notch.

Liked: Check-in
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
I am giving two stars because the host did accommodate us by moving us to another one of his units that was cleaner. But regarding the unit I am rating, it deserves 1 star. It was roach infested, dirty, and needs a lot of work. The baseboard near the HVAC unit was rotting from water damage. The walls all had dirty smudges, one even had what looked like a blood smear. The floors clearly hadn’t been cleaned prior to us checking in. We also learned that VRBO offers no protections against bug infestations-it’s up to the host to provide a solution if they want to. Luckily the host did move us to a cleaner unit that was only a couple minutes away, but we did have to spend one night in this unit and killed at least 15 baby roaches during that time.
We were visiting UF for my daughters graduation and unfortunately found this property in poor shape and inconsistent with the listing. We had planned to stay 2 nights, but due to the poor condition of the unit and surrounding area my family refused to stay and we left after one night. It is located in a low income subsidized housing area. The surrounding area (street, parking area) has abandoned furniture, cars, and children's toys. The landscape is poorly maintained from the front parking to the backyard. The backyard is littered with used cigarette butts, and empty mini alcohol bottles. When entering the unit you are met with a very strong, unpleasant astringent odor. There is excessive wear throughout the unit from flooring, to stained bathtub, a doorknob fell off the bedroom during use creating a safety and usability concern. We attempted to use an ironing board that would neither open nor close properly and appeared to be rigged with a wire. There were bugs on the floor of one bedroom. A long black hair was in one of the beds!! Despite being charged over twice as much as usual for the stay - the property is not worth 1.

We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations during such an important occasion for your family. We always want our guests to feel comfortable and welcomed, and we did our best to address your concerns during your stay.
That said, we would like to clarify that the reservation was used, check-in was completed, and the request for a full refund did not apply under the booking policy. While we fully respect every guest’s opinion, we believe it is unfair to harm a small business with exaggerated statements simply because a refund could not be granted after the stay had already begun.
The property and neighborhood are accurately represented in the listing photos and description, and we continuously work to maintain and improve the space for our guests. We also take cleanliness and maintenance concerns seriously, and any issue reported during the stay is addressed as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your feedback and wish your family all the best following your daughter’s graduation.
