There was everything we needed at the cottage. I didn’t realize that even beach gear was going to be there. We fit our family of 5 comfortably for 4 nights by using one of the pull-outs and managed the sheet washing situation at check-out by bringing our own. So easy. Very comfortable and clean and organized. Probably the best spot in the Beach Dreams community if you have a family as it’s very close to the pool and clubhouse but set back enough that it’s quiet. Easy parking on the pavement so less tracking in sand/dirt. I’d stay here again!

Central location

We liked the property. The pool was perfect and the cottage was lovely. We would suggest a fan in the three season room. It was uncomfortably hot in there so we bought a fan in order to be able to use it. We have stayed at many VRBO or AirB&B properties and have never had to wash the sheets and towels that we used. This really put a damper on the ending to our vacation. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. We were asked to replace anything that we used up such as dish liquid, toilet paper etc. in order for the next guests to have these supplies. Again, this was unusual. The location is perfect as you are close to both Wells beach and Ogunquit. Check in was easy.

Nice little cottage

We did have a small issue checking in (partly my fault) but the owner was quick to respond and sorted everything out. Make sure to E mail before arrival. The cottage is in a great area and the complex is lovely. We sat by the pool for an afternoon and we were the only ones there for a while. My only minor criticism would be the lack of storage in the 2nd bedroom- there is nowhere to hang clothes and one of the drawers was missing. Also we had to look through the drawers to find the bedding for the main bed as none of the beds were made. Not a big deal though and I would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay here again if we were in the area.

A good stay

Property is located on a quiet traffic circle in the large Beach Dreams complex; a real plus! Some of the other properties have dirt parking area; this one has paved parking on the circle, close to the front door. Some of the others are very close together; this one has some space between it and neighbors, so it does not feel too close to anyone.

We loved this cottage and housing community!

My mother, 6 year old daughter, and myself had a great time in the Beach Dreams complex. It reminded us of a campground, and everyone there was so friendly and nice. Our cottage was in the PERFECT location for my daughter to ride her bike, as this house sits right on a little loop surrounding a Bocce court. This cottage was also closest to the pool and Rec room which are right across the way. We enjoyed having our breakfast outside on the little patio table. One day it rained and I enjoyed reading on the enclosed porch. The kitchen pots, pans and glasses etc. were clean and new. It was well supplied with other kitchen needs such as a Keurig, sandwich bags and napkins etc. The community is on Route 1, which is a busy street to cross if you're biking to the beach like we did, but lucky for us there is a cross walk right at the entrance to the community! So we enjoyed the short bike ride to Moody Beach, North Beach, and Wells Beach. Lastly, the owner Shawn was wonderful! It was pure chaos the morning we checked out due to an unexpected walk in clinic visit, and we were grateful Shawn was so understanding of our circumstances.

Wells extended weekend

We really enjoyed our stay! It was very easy communication with the owner/host Shawn. The home itself was very comfortable. The location was quiet. My Mom loved the 3 season porch. It was easy to get to all the different places we went to including the beach, shops, and restaurants. I would definitely return to the cottage!

Disappointing

We were responsible for cleaning the linens before leaving. I didn’t pay an outrageous cleaning fee to do their job. This place wasn’t cheap and we ended up leaving a day early due to the mice wandering around at night and getting into our groceries on the counter. They need to clean up their act , quite literally.

Hi Christine, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - I contacted pest control after your report to have the property inspected. They placed traps and bait around the cottage. They have been monitoring it since and have found no mice inside the cottage but did catch a few underneath in the crawl space area. - I connected with my housekeeping team, and they did not find any evidence of mice in the cottage before your arrival. - Most rentals in the area do not include linens and expect guests to supply their own. We provide linens as a courtesy but doing so requires ensuring they are clean for the next guests. - Our cleaning service doesn't include laundry, and we asked guests to do so because there is usually only a four-hour time frame between guests. - We carefully set competitive rates for our property after a thorough analysis of the property itself and the surrounding area. Thanks for letting us know about your stay!

Fun family vacation

We loved this cottage. It is very centrally located within the complex right next to the main pool so very convenient w kids. Central ac did not work and we communicated w the owner about this. The ac unit worked but it wasn’t a very hot week so we were ok. I would worry it wouldn’t be enough on a hot humid week. House has everything you would need - don’t bring much! Beach gear and toys as we as umbrella available to use as well as games to play in the home. I would bring my own sheets and towels next time FYI bc you are expected to wash and dry and have all linens and towels folded before check out. It makes for a stressful checkout day because the washer and dryer are small and takes awhile to dry heavy towels and sheets. Just something I wish I had known. Overall a great stay. We loved the cafe across the street for coffee and sandwiches ( get the gobbler!) and we loved biking around the complex w the kids. Complex has a great pool and hot tub as well as gym.

Cottage was super clean, comfortable and perfect for our family of four. Location within the complex was great (very close to the big pool), as was the location in Wells (could easily visit nearby towns).

Great cottage in beautiful Wells, ME

My family of 4 (two girls ages 11 and 5) really enjoyed ourselves in this adorable cottage! Location in the beach dreams community is probably the best area for a young family as it is right across from the main pool and it has a nice green area in front to play on / nice cul de sac to ride bikes around. Cottage was clean and had anything you need including beach chairs/ umbrellas/ toys. Plenty of board games and some movies. Shawn was responsive to all emails I sent. The one downside ( and it’s not to be negative more of an FYI) is you are expected to wash and dry all your sheets and towels and have them all out of the dryer and folded before you leave. This makes for a stressful check out morning as the washer dryer is small and doesn’t dry things fast. If we rented again we would bring our own sheets and towels to have a more relaxed last morning. Just an FYI. Central air didn’t seem to work for us but the wall unit was working fine and we didn’t have a super hot humid week so that was ok! Definitely would recommend this cottage! One more thing- drive slow in the community… the owners here are all nice but definitely get upset w renters driving above the 10 mph limit which is definitely needed as many kids / families live and rent here.
