Welcome to the heart of the Bloomingdale neighborhood in DC! Our flat has a fantastic `Walk Score` of 94/100 by Zillow, making it a walker`s paradise. You`ll have easy access to excellent food, entertainment, and shopping. The Shaw Metro Stop is less than a 12-minute walk away, and the Convention Center is just a 5-minute car ride. DC is also very biker-friendly, and several Capital Bikeshare stations are nearby. Lyft and Uber are readily available throughout DC.
Here`s some info on getting here: If you`re flying into DCA, taking the Yellow Metro line straight to Shaw Metro Station or a taxi/Uber/Lyft is the easiest option during rush hours. If you arrive at IAD or BWI, a taxi/Uber/Lyft is the best way to reach our home. If you`re coming by bus or train, you can take the Red Metro line to Gallery Place/Chinatown and transfer to the Green/Yellow Metro line to Shaw Station.
The street across from our home (on 3rd St) does not require a visitor permit; all street parking is first come, first serve. All other nearby street parking has a 2-hour limit during the day on weekdays or is for residents only. The nearby Giant supermarket has a public underground garage for about $30/business day. Independent third-party parking spots may also be available on the SpotHero app. We`ll provide additional parking information before check-in.
• We are located on the second and third floor of a 4-story rowhouse. You must be able to climb stairs.
• This is our primary home. We`ve locked some rooms, doors, and drawers to secure our personal belongings, but the rest of the house is yours to enjoy!
• We take great pride in keeping our home sparkling clean, and we appreciate your help maintaining that standard during your stay. Your contribution makes all the difference in offering a top-notch home-sharing experience for everyone. Thank you!
• Located in a mixed-use zone with quick access to bars, restaurants, and DC attractions. Street may be busy from time to time. Location may not be suitable for families with young and small children. House Rules:
• Guests located within a 50-mile radius of Washington, D.C. require pre-approval before booking. Reservation made without pre-approval will be subject to cancellation per guest`s Cancellation Policy.
• Guest must complete pre-arrival ID verification including damage protection selection via our digital guest portal
• No parties, pre-games, or events. Visitors are limited to one to two close friends or family members.
• DC Noise Ordinance: Quiet hours are in effect from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM Monday to Sunday. It`s the law!
• Speakers are prohibited from being used to play loud music at any time, including outdoors.
• Shoes are not permitted inside the house.
• Indoor smoking is prohibited; a fine of $300 per night will be imposed.
• Additional overnight guests beyond the reservation will incur a fee of $30 per person per night.
• Unauthorized late checkouts past 11:00 AM will incur a fee of $100 per extra hour to cover the cost of cleaning delay.
• Any mess left behind that requires a deep cleaning will result in a fee of $200 to cover the cost of additional cleaning.

The property itself, inside, was great. The neighborhood/area, on the other hand, was “sketchy” to say the least. We heard sirens nonstop throughout the stay. My wife refused to go outside by herself. Normally, she would take a daily walk. We had numerous “potentially dangerous” interactions. Take it for what you will, but the location and the “97” walkability description is completely inaccurate.

We’re ideally situated on one of the main road with bars and restaurants in DC. As mentioned in our description, the street can get busy sometimes, so if you’re looking for a more suburban vibe, you might want to consider staying outside the city. But if you’re up for the urban experience, you’ll be in good hands! Our location is super convenient, with easy access to everything you need. The Shaw metro station is just a 12-minute walk away, or you can hop in an Uber for a quick 10-15 minute ride into downtown or the National Mall. And guess what? There are tons of amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and bars within a 2-5 minute walk. Just a few houses down, you’ll find DCity Smokehouse, Big Bear Cafe, The Red Hen (known for its homemade pasta), The Royal (serving up some incredible Latin-American cuisine), Shaw’s Tavern, Bacio Pizzeria, and many more local gems. So, come on down and experience the best of DC right here in our neighborhood!
