The apartment was in a very convenient location, literally 7 mins from the path station. The rooms were spacious. We had a hiccup checking in and the area was a little sketchy with a few people lurking around. But overall it was a very nice stay. The host was very quick and responsive.
The proximity to the subway was indeed very convenient for us. We would, however, respectfully suggest that a thorough cleaning of the premises would be beneficial. Specifically, the microwave was not as clean as we would have liked, and the kitchen light was not functioning. While a good cleaning is certainly needed, we do believe it is a pleasant place overall.

Disliked: Cleanliness
When we arrived, the apartment was extremely hot; the three AC units on the wall were not working. It took a while for the place to cool down. Also, the place is old and not well-maintained, and it's not particularly clean, especially the bathroom. The location is convenient, but it's a little sketchy for visitors.

Do not stay. This was the WORST experience my family and I have ever had. Let's start with the area. While 'nice' in theory please know you are staying above a liquor store with all that entails. We had people all day and night...literally smoking, drinking and hanging out on the steps to our living space. We had to excuse ourselves around people in order to even get in. Once you get in to the building you are greeted with steep steps, hard to navigate and a smell that reminds you of the local baño. The apartment was not very cozy. You walk into a living room with a couch and chairs that remind you of comfort but don't include it. Bathroom was disgusting and well used... Like shower curtain I clouded the previous 100 guests dirt. Nevermind the condition of the tub and toilet. We had to clean it thoroughly even though a 'cleaning fee' was charged. AC didn't work. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything neighbor does. To sum up our stay bring flip flops to shower, keep the police on speed dial(they were called during our stay) and a fan because it was HOT! We tried to reach out to owners and VRBO with no response or care. -1000 stars.

Good value and basic apartment
The place had a good value and was a nice large space with 3 bedrooms, and a large kitchen and living room, perfect for 3 kids and 2 adults. the location is 10 minutes walking from Journal Sq path station so it's easy to get to NYC. It's a flight of stairs up to the apartment from the street. There is A/C in the bedrooms but not the living room and we stayed during a very hot weekend, so the living room was very hot. but bedrooms were cool. since bedrooms are in the back its quiet at night.some downsides were the place was relatively clean but a bit grubby, especially the bathroom and shower. the kitchen was mostly well equipped but missing essentials like a cutting board, strainer, corkscrew, peeler. the location was a bit rough and there was a lot of late night street partying and drinking on the front steps. if you are looking for a cool location this is not it, but it's convenient to NYC. overall it was a nice stay and good value for money for a location close to the path trains to NYC
