Perfect little place for a getaway! The owners have thought of everything. Comfortable, clean & cozy in a quiet setting . Close to outdoor activities & Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. Modern amenities, and a nice outdoor fire pit to enjoy.

Tranquil! Loved the privacy. Property very nice. Very clean. All of our needs were met. Very few cars traveling the road in front, I had concerns about that being a busy road. Loved the proximity to the attractions and towns.

Myself, wife and two fur children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at “the Barracks”. It was spotlessly clean, cozy and everything we needed was there. The location was quite quiet which we appreciated that. And it is close enough to several attractions such as Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls state park to make easy day excursions. If back in the same area we would gladly stay at the Barracks again.

We enjoyed our stay! The fall colors were beautiful! We enjoyed the cozy cabin with all that we needed for our stay. The fall decor was so homey and there were eggs and peppers in the fridge and wood outside for the firepit. There was a brief history of the place written up and photo album of the cabin's transition into what it is today. The water temp was great, the heater kept us warm on the frosty nights, and the bed, pillows, and couch were comfortable. We enjoyed the wildlife outside and beautiful starry night on our last night. It is about 9 miles to the cabin on a narrow, paved, windy road that is in good condition. The views are beautiful along the route. Okey and Sherry were enjoyable and helpful. Thank you for a nice stay.

Such a cozy place in the mountains of WV. Very happy with this entire trip.Our family of 4 enjoyed a peaceful stay.Our boys played football in the yard and we loved starting an evening campfire.
