About this property
Located AT LAKE JUNALUSKA!! Beautiful Log Cabin, Modern Amenities, WIFI, HD TV
Your log cabin is tucked away on a quiet cul de sac area of Lake Junaluska. It is a 3 minute walk to the edge of Lake Junaluska and Lake Junaluska Conference Center.
The cabin has 3 great outdoor spaces including a front porch with rocking chairs, a covered back patio with a grill and a newly added smokeless firepit!
This 3 bedroom and 2.5 cabin has everything you need for a perfect, peaceful vacation. The kitchen has all of the amenities of home. In addition, the kitchen is stocked with cookware. The cabin has central heat and air although with the cool mountain breezes you rarely need air conditioning.
The front bedroom has a day bed, trundle bed and bunk beds. Open the French doors to this room and let the mountain sunshine and fresh mountain air fill the room. The family room is a great place to gather to play board games or just curl up on the couch and read a book. The family room has one of the 2 high definition satellite flat screen televisions with the other TV in the middle Bedroom. In addition, the cabin has free WI-FI. A fireplace with gas logs in the family room keeps you toasty warm on chilly evenings.
Enjoy grilling out on the back covered patio where a gas grill and picnic table are provided. You can dine out rain or shine on the patio. The front porch is a great place to overlook the front garden with gorgeous flowers, birds, and butterflies. Coffee and grits on the porch in the morning....life does not get any better than this!
Road access to the cabin is easy and there is a flat driveway for parking.
The cabin is located on the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center. It is a great place to stay for the many conferences, retreats, and meetings that Lake Junaluska offers throughout the year. The cabin is a 3 minute walk to Stuart Auditorium and Terrace meeting rooms.
At Lake Junaluska, there are many activities and amenities for you to enjoy.
In the summer, the Olympic size pool is open and the pool is built to give you the illusion that you are actually swimming in the lake! Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats can be rented in the summer from the aquatic center. Pickle ball, shuffleboard, mini golf, basketball, volley ball and tennis are also great activities at Lake Junaluska.
Fishing is permitted with the proper fishing license. There is a public boat launch. Electric motors or paddles must be used on the lake...no gas powered boats or personal watercraft. Several docks are located around the lake for your fishing pleasure. The playground is open year round and is an awesome place for children to play and frolic. There are also covered picnic tables. There is a paved 2.6 mile walking/running path that encircles the 200 acre lake. The views of the mountains are stunning. Enjoy viewing the ducks and swans along the way! This path is great for strollers too. You will want to take your camera along to snap some pictures of the lake and mountains. The Rose Walk is a must see at Lake Junaluska. It is a portion of the trail around the lake and there are numerous rose bushes with a rainbow of color. Don't forget to 'stop and smell the roses'.
The Lake Junaluska golf course is just 5 minutes away. Enjoy the 4 seasons of the Smoky Mountains!
Summer-fishing, golf, tennis, hiking, biking, mini golf, boating, horseback riding, rafting, tubing
Autumn-apple picking, Apple Festival in Waynesville, leaf peeping at mountains painted with yellow, gold and orange, hiking, photo opportunities.
Winter-snow skiing, snow boarding, sledding, making snowmen, snow angels, hot chocolate by the fireplace.
Spring-flower festivals, hiking, mountains bursting with blooms of every color.
In addition, we also have a cabin right next door to this one. Junaluska Cabin can be viewed at property number 1724993. Great arrangement for families traveling together!!

About the host
Hosted by Ruth or Ted Singletary

Ted and Ruth Singletary were born and raised in Charleston, S.C. area. Ruth's family always vacationed at Chimney Rock, N.C. and Ted's family camped in the Great Smoky Mountains. Ruth visited Lake Junaluska as a child and returned every summer to the beauty of the lake. In 1991, Ted and Ruth began bringing their children to Lake Junaluska. In 1996, our family purchased an inn at Lake Junaluska and have spent our summers at Lake Junaluska ever since then.
Why they chose this property
Lake Junaluska holds a special place in our hearts. It is a place where you can refresh, relax and renew your spirit. There is nothing more spectacular than sitting up by the famous Lake Junaluska cross and watching the sunset at over the lake....priceless. Our cabin was the original bookstore at Lake Junaluska and was built in 1925. It has been a labor of love restoring this cabin to bring it back to it's original beauty.
What makes this property unique
When we first stepped inside the cabin we both said, 'It feels like home!'. The cabin is in a quiet section of Lake Junaluska but just a 2 minute walk will have you at the Lake's edge taking in the panoramic view of pristine Lake Junaluska. We love rocking on the front porch!
