About the host
Hosted by Tom Merrifield
We are a German American Family who has called the Lowcountry our home since 2013. We have lived all over the world, love antique and modern styles and have tried to integrate these styles into this one-of-a-kind home.
Why they chose this property
This home is part of the Beaufort Downtown Historic District. It is only a short walk (6 minutes) to the downtown are and Waterfront district with restaurants, shops and art galleries as well as the marina.
What makes this property unique
This front building at 914 Charles St. is a historic home which was built in 1897. This home was built in 1955 in the back. It was a gathering place for young people early on and became the workshop for the frame shop and gallery in the main house, which is why we named it "The Workshop". They are both part of the Beaufort Downtown Historic District. We purchased The Workshop in 2023 and completely renovated it in 2024. It has a very modern-rustic feel in our opinion. It is only a short walk (6 minutes) to the downtown are and Waterfront district with restaurants, shops and art galleries as well as the marina.
