We had a mishap when we first got to the cabin, but Doug went above and beyond to accommodate us. He's a great host and the cabin is beautiful. We would love to come back again in the future.
We had a great time staying here for the weekend! Doug was very communicative with us about the property and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy the cabin. Very close to Steven’s Pass, and nice to just hang out at for down time. We will definitely look to stay here again!

Cozy Little Ski Bungalow
The property was better than we could have imagined. Some of the photos on the listing are outdated and don’t reflect the updates/ upgrades made by the hosts. The driveway is long and made for easy parking, the hot tub is new and clean, the downstairs bedroom has a bunk bed with full/ queen size beds, and the upstairs loft is spacious and warm.
Been here before in 2017, rustic funkyness that fits us to a tee. Took a nap on the hammock one afternoon. Hot tub was out but no matter. River running too high to spend much time on the shore but loved walking around the area. Probably be back again.

Thanks Bruce! Hammock is my fav part! Glad your enjoyed your second stay. Hot tub will be back online next week! Hope to host you again.
Restful honeymoon in a well maintained older cabin. Rained our entire stay, but the property made the stay inside still lovely. The fireplace and hot tub were the trip highlights! The nearby towns of Skykomish and Gold Bar have limited, but very nice dining options. Skip the convenience store in Skykomish though... recommend bringing in any food you want to have for your stay in with you. Very limited grocery options in the area, with a small, expensive option in Gold Bar being the closest option. Would definitely recommend to others, and stay again if the opportunity arises!
Very dangerous walking in and out. Could not enter front door because deck stairs hit by tree. Oven filthy and dishes need a good dishwasher. Windows very dirty . Hot tub had lots of dirt and water not clear. Did not get in!!! Should not be rented in snow till deck fixed!!!

A shack in the woods
The property has potential to be really nice, however,
1. There were mouse droppings in all the drawers.
2. Both the propane bottles were empty for the BBQ
3. There are a lot of unfinished parts of the cabin.
4. Most of the lighting was extension cords strung to the lights. Electrical fire hazard…not to code.
5. No can opener.
6. Mattresses were broken down…springs poking.
I was there with two buddies for an event on Steven’s Pass. If I would have been there with my wife, we would have immediately checked out and asked for our money back.

Disappointing stay
My partner and I rented this cabin as a first time ever hiking/cabin trip in the Pacific Northwest. We were super excited for the trip, but unfortunately, this cabin did not meet our expectations, especially for the price we paid (could’ve rented likely more up-kept cabins in the area).
The cabin was dirty: the floor made our white socks turn brown, there were food crumbs and beer bottle caps underneath the kitchen counter units, and the oven was dirty. We were pretty sure that nobody mopped the floor before we arrived or checked all the rooms for cleanliness (there was a used bathing suit hanging on the shower curtain rod when we arrived). There was also a used dog bed with hair and dust when we got there, which we did not let our dogs go near. The cabin is also generally a bit unfinished, which we wouldn’t usually have a problem with, but there were parts of the walls coming off/unfinished and paint chipping off the walls. It was a bit disappointing to see all of the amazing reviews and then arrive to a dirty cabin that should have been as spotless as a hotel room—for the price.
The good things about the cabin are the remoteness and nature—which gives you privacy, nice community it is in, washer and dryer if you need it, and the easy hot tub access.
Really had a delightful time here! The property was just as described, the location was beautiful, the hot tub was exactly what I needed, and had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately the Bolt Creek Wildfire had changed my plans rather rapidly. Doug was communicative and made sure everything was taken care of and I really appreciated it.
Secluded cabin in nice area. Good base point between Seattle, Mt. Rainer, and North Cascades National Parks. Easy check in and Easy access to Host. It was in the 90’s when we were in the cabin, but, cooled down nicely at night. Host provides 2 large fans as there is no a/c. Overall, nice stay.
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at the hosts cabin! It was a wonderful weekend full of woodland scenery. The cabin was cozy and the hot tub is a plus! This honeymoon trip was one for the books. I recommend this for anyone looking to getaway.
This cabin was cozy and comfortable. It was a little warm for a summer heatwave visit (no air conditioning) but I would love to return for a wintertime visit. Great location for hiking, rafting, etc.
