The home is approx. 3,000 sq ft, has wide hallways, and features 8 bedrooms and a total of 15 beds, 3 bathrooms, very large great room, screened porch, expansive lake view, and sandy beach. Many of our families return year after year due to the family friendly level lot and the fact that the home is all on one level, allowing for easy access for your reunion guests.

During the months of June through August, we require a SEVEN night stay minimum with the exception of the first week of June and the last handful of days in August. Weeks run Friday to Friday during summer months. In addition, current summer renters are given first priority for booking for the following summer during the same week. We do not know summer availability until one week following the end of the week in question. For example, if you are looking at July 8-15, 2022, we would not know if this is available until the end of the third week of July 2021. You may message the owner if you wish to be placed on a waiting list should a week open up.

Nice property with plenty of room

This property was great for our group. We all had plenty of room and although we didn’t cook or use much of the amenities, it was clear the home was well stocked. The beds wet comfy and everything was clean.

Great Vacation

We had a great stay as always. Everything is as it should be. Besides the spacious accommodations the extras like the washer and dryer make it very nice place to stay. We are already looking forward to next year.

Peaceful Getaway!

We were blessed to find this property for our annual family getaway. It was everything we hoped for and more. Our large family had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy each other's company. It was a very relaxing peaceful environment. We all agreed that this is definitely a place to come back to.

Awesome place to relax with family on a peaceful lake

This beautiful place was perfect for our family. It is much better than even the pictures portray. The beds are wonderful. The home is huge and very well equipped. The owners are amazing and even left us a lovely gift for our parents' 60th Anniversary. Highly recommended!

Girl’s weekend WE LOVED IT

So spacious, they have everything you would possibly need in the kitchen and through out the property. Only disappointment we had was we had to make our own beds. The built in bunks are really hard. Anne (the owner) was GREAT to work with.

Fantastic property

We had a great time at this gorgeous house on lake miltona. Perfect backyard and beachfront to enjoy yard and water games. The owners were very kind and accommodating, I would definitely return and recommend the house to anyone hoping to enjoy lake life with a large group. 5 stars!

Perfect for large families

We had 4 different families and there was plenty of room for all of us. The owner was really easy to work with and always quick to respond to my questions. The place was very clean, spacious, and pretty. Great beach area for the kids! A little far from town so that’s why I gave location 4 stars instead of 5.

Cozy and Perfect for Big Groups

We’ve stayed at this property 3 times. We just love it. It’s clean, cozy, and the set up is wonderful for quality time. It’s also really nice that the bedrooms are all on the other side of the house from the living room, so noise isn’t a problem for those who stay up late or rise early. Owners are wonderful. Highly recommend.

Perfect multi-generational gathering space

We chose this property based on the bedrooms and bathrooms, combined with the open kitchen and sandy beach for a multi-generational gathering - and this property did not disappoint. The water was quite weedy at the end of the dock, which was a challenge, but there was enough room to play in the sand and roll out a lily pad to swim on. The playground on site was a hit with the little ones as well. The property was clean, but definitely lived-in. Overall, this was a wonderful property and all had a good time.

Amazing Family Get away

We chose this property due to wanting to get together with family in order to stay safe. We were amazed at the amount of space and size of the property. There was plenty of toys, games, utensils, kitchen items, and beach toys. Chairs for outside, and firewood nearby at a campground within walking distance. The lake was peaceful and calm most of the time, and just a beautiful location all around. Other than a sticky island countertop and a weedy lake (which we got over), it was the perfect vacation get away for our family!

We really enjoyed our time together for the holiday weekend!

The house was nice and open and worked well for our large family. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep and the large yard by the lake was awesome! Kids loved the beach area. We did have to spend some time cleaning the beach before they could use it. Had good luck with fishing...caught their limit on crappies one night! The location was nice for our family to meet at and was close enough to Alexandria if you would need to go into town. We would definitely stay here again if we plan another family get together!! Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

Wonderful experience!

We were very pleased with this rental. We had a total of 16 adults and 4 children at this property the weekend of February 16th. The kitchen was well equipped. The rooms were clean with extra blankets available. The easy access to lake was a plus, allowing several walks to the ice fishermen in our group. The toys and books were a big plus as well as the swing set outdoors for the kids. A few more floor mats by the front door would have been helpful, otherwise we have no complaints and many have said we would come back. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Thanks for a great get away!!!

Great place to enjoy a Mama/Daughter Weekend away from it all!

This location was perfect. A beautiful spacious house on Lake Miltona with so much to do. From collecting shells, to playing on the playground, to hide and seek in the large ranch style home, to quiet evenings by the fire after the kiddos go to bed. This place has it all. Such a perfect setting for a mama/daughter weekend away from it all. The cold didn't stop us from enjoying all this place has to offer. We will be returning next year! Anne was very responsive and incredibly caring, even having a welcome gift for us when we arrived. The mamas in the group felt so special. Thank you so much for everything.

The property was awesome!!!

We just finished our Labor Day weekend family get together and had a great time and the house was perfect. The set-up of the house handled all of us with room to spare. The table and refrigerator in the attached garage was a perfect overflow room and helped separate the kids from the adults. The giant yard between the house and the beach was great for the kids running around and the front driveway area provided plenty of parking. The only disappointing part of the weekend was Mother Nature, constant 25-30 mph winds directly off the lake from Friday afternoon until late Sunday night prevented us from enjoying the lake and fire pit.

Beautiful home for a large group!!

We stayed here with a group of 11 adults and 10 young children and had an absolute blast! The bedrooms are very accommodating to groups with numerous families, the house is stocked with everything you need for a relaxing weekend, and everything was clean and in very good condition. The kitchen and living room area is absolutely gorgeous, and the views of the lake are incredible. We had great success putting the little kids to bed earlier and then socializing as adults without disrupting them. The owners were also very responsive to our questions and requests, before and after our stay. Our only concern with the whole experience was that the driveway and sidewalks were pure ice upon our arrival and had clearly not been shoveled for a few days - once we got that cleared and bought some salt for the ice, the kids also enjoyed playing outside. We are sure to return for another gathering in the future!!

Quaint, semi-rustic yet modern home...

We had a group of 13 come for a snowy weekend. The place is warm and friendly. More rustic looking inside than what you'd expect from the outside. We loved it. Very clean. Lots of pots, pans and griddles to make all our meals. We sat around the fireplace as 8-10 inches of snow fell outside. Lots of room. Some things people might want to know as they plan on coming - there was soap for the dishwasher but not for handwashing the dishes. The bathrooms had lots of extra garbage bags but there was only the one black plastic bag for kitchen garbage. The dish towels in the kitchen were white hand towels. And the bathroom towels were not overly big. We all would highly recommend this beautiful place.

ANOTHER YEAR OF MEMORIES

After 4 years of staying in this home and we couldn’t be happier. We have made so many memories it has been fun to watch the kids grow and get excited about staying at “the cabin”. Although this place is not your typical cabin…this “home” is what we look forward to every year. It has started to feel like our home away from home. The kitchen is set up with everything you could need an more for amenities. We no longer have to bring all that extra stuff as this place has it all. The views of the lake are breathless and the one level living is exactly what you need. The three season porch is great and the TV room perfect for the kids or adults to relax in. If you can ever find an opening in the summer I suggest that you take it and see what I am talking about. We just reserved next year for the 5th start year and plan to do so for many more to come. Dorothy and Glen are easily the easiest people to work with and truly want your experience to be memorable…Thank you for allowing us this opportunity.

About the host

Host profile image
The Reiner Family has lived on Lake Miltona for 15 years and have lived in the area collectively for over 30 years. We enjoy sharing our home with others and have always been pleased with how our guests care for our home during their stay. We welcome families both large and small for their gatherings. We love our neighbors and they will enjoy seeing you vacation here, so we ask that you are respectful of them as well. We cannot allow pets at all since we have members of our family with severe allergies. Of course, no smoking. We will not accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties.

Why they chose this property

Our home was designed for entertaining at the lake. We come from large families so the home was built to share with others. We hope you will come and enjoy this property when it isn't in use by our family. We have family nearby in case you need anything. This home is relatively new, but was designed to feel like an old time lake home. Hopefully, the minute you enter you will feel like you have stepped back in time and will relax and enjoy the lake as you would have in days gone by. The home features large gathering areas including a great room that opens to the kitchen, a large 11x36 four-season room that can be converted to a scrap booking or quilting area. The kids will love the built in European style bunkbeds! There is also a screen porch that overlooks the lake and is one great napping spots. There is a copper clad wood-burning fireplace, deck, large shady lawn and awesome sandy beach. The rental is by the week from June through August and available for 3 day weekends throughout the remainder of the year. Lake Miltona is one of the finest lakes in the area known for fabulous fishing, clean water and every kind of water sport. Within a short distance you will find Carlos State Park, bike trails. downhill skiing, antiquing, live summer theatre, many opportunities to enjoy local musicians, an award winning local winery and so much more. Lake Miltona is also known as an excellent ice fishing lake and the snowmobile trail is nearby. The slogan for Alexandria, the neighboring town, is 'Easy to get to, hard to leave.' Come stay and we think you will agree.

What makes this property unique

The things most people love about our home is the warm and welcoming feel the minute they walk in the door. It is new, but has the look and feel of a charming old lake home. The great room provides space to gather for a meal or visit with a small or large number of people around the beautiful copper-faced fireplace which features huge antique beams. There are also lots of places to get away and read a book or just enjoy the summer breeze. Across the road is a picturesque farm with a small lake that provides awesome pictures of sunsets. Out front you have shade, beautiful sunrises and lots of sand. You might even want to bring your boat/pontoon to enjoy a leisurely tour of the amazing 5800 acre lake. You can stop by the sand bar where dozens of people gather to play volleyball and mingle in crystal clear water with a sand bottom. Once again, the easy accessibility of this home makes this an easy place for everyone to visit. Looking forward to meeting you.
