About this property

Entire Carriage House w/ garage downtown

This fully renovated historic carriage house will be your perfect oasis in the heart of the action. It is located steps from Little Caesar’s Arena, Comerica Park, and Ford Field, as well as countless restaurants, bars and concert venues. This sprawling loft studio includes a designer bathroom, king sized bed, a large equipped kitchen, and garage parking. The sectional sofa pulls out into a second bed, and a king size air mattress can be completely set up before your arrival. Come soak in the tub and use this as the launching pad for your visit to Detroit.

Just six years ago, this historic building was a Brush Park ruin with three walls standing, no roof, and no service connections. Everything is new, except for the red brick walls.

There is a garage at grade level, plus a 1000 square foot studio loft above.

Arrival guide will be sent to you ahead of your arrival. You are welcome to park one vehicle inside of the garage. Additional vehicles can park on our lot and immediately adjacent to your Carriage House building.

I’ve spent many years restoring and caring for historic properties in Detroit, and I especially enjoy giving guests an opportunity to experience the city from a more personal perspective than a traditional hotel stay. My goal as a host is simple: provide a comfortable, memorable place to stay and be available when guests need assistance while giving them the privacy to enjoy their visit.

Why they chose this property

Brush Park is one of Detroit’s most historic and architecturally distinctive neighborhoods, and I’ve been fortunate to call it home for many years. What I love most is the combination of beautiful historic homes and an incredibly convenient downtown location. Guests can enjoy the character of a residential neighborhood while being close to Downtown, Midtown, stadiums, theaters, restaurants, museums, and many of Detroit’s major attractions. It’s a wonderful place from which to experience both historic and contemporary Detroit.

What makes this property unique

This private two-story loft has a unique connection to Detroit’s automotive history. Although located on the grounds of a historic Brush Park mansion, the building was not originally a carriage house. It was constructed in the early 20th century as an automobile repair shop, reflecting Detroit’s transformation from the horse-and-carriage era into the Motor City.

Today, the former auto shop has been converted into a spacious, loft-style residence while retaining its exposed brick, open layout, and industrial character. Guests have the entire building to themselves, including a private garage, creating an unusual combination of historic architecture, privacy, and convenience.

Located in the heart of Brush Park, the property offers a distinctly Detroit experience just minutes from Downtown, Midtown, the stadium district, restaurants, theaters, museums, and many of the city’s major attractions.
