I almost don’t want to leave a review because I want to keep this place my little secret. The property is indescribably beautiful and peaceful—the photos truly don’t do it justice. The natural pool is so unique and nostalgic; I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much of a trip in a pool. And lastly, the hosts genuinely care about making your stay as comfortable as possible. It’s so apparent how much they love and care for the property, and that comes through in every detail. Couldn’t recommend this place more.
We had such a great stay! Beautiful, clean, and incredibly peaceful. Communication was quick and helpful, and the instructions for the home were simple and easy to follow. The artwork, created by the homeowner, added so much color and personality to the space and really made it feel special. We loved spending time by the pond/pool area looking at all the goldfish, such a relaxing spot. It was also really meaningful hearing some history of the home from my brother-in-law, who used to visit years ago as kid. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!
The scale of this home and surroundings was as grand as we’d hoped. Spacious, well appointed rooms, an extraordinary canopy of trees shading multiple outdoor spaces, attractive flagstone terraces and enjoyable garden “moments” throughout the property combine to create a thorough getaway. The property’s history was present in its original detailing inside and out, and the home contains a marvelous collection of artist monographs and other art and culture books. The family’s collection of original art work is also notable. And swimming in the pond is great fun! However, be forewarned that guests in wheelchairs will need assistance to cross uneven thresholds between the three different parts of the house and getting up and down the terrace steps outside.
The host was extremely nice and accommodating, walking us through the beautiful, storied history of the home, her mothers art, etc. The place was not just a place to stay but an adventure. We had a family gathering there and everyone was very stoked, my 90 year old aunt could make it to the big living room in her assisted walker since there is a place to enter on that level so this was by far an excellent location. WE all had a great time and were sad to leave, it is that beautiful. I highly recommend it!
