This was a good place to stay in the Gerstle Park neighborhood. It is a spacious and comfortable place. It was good for our dogs as well. We enjoyed our time here, and communication with the host was clear. Thanks!

This was a cool old lower level of a house with a separate entrance. It has a neat old stove and lovely nooks. It was a great place for our family of 4 with separate rooms for the kids. Parking may be within a block.

Super nice and accommodating hosts! Clean, roomy, good location. Had most all of the essentials we needed. You are in a downstairs unit of an older Victorian, so there are a few charming quirks and you can definitely hear the family / kids upstairs and outside playing in the yard (trampoline is right outside one of the bedroom windows)…so if you don’t mind some noise, you’ll be fine! We had the fans on so that blocked most of the sounds. There is a portable AC in case of a major heat wave too! (Or people like us who are used to the freezing cold!) Gerstle Park is right up the street for nice walks with the pups. Looking forward to staying again on our next trip down!

The location is excellent, although parking can be a challenge. But very centrally located within both San Rafael and Marin County. The place itself is charming, and is the lower level of an older home. The only cons that I would point out are that if you have an issue with noise above you (there is a family that lives above), or if you don't like the sound of children at play in the morning, this may not be the place for you. It didn't affect our stay because of our schedule, but if you are someone who likes to sleep in, it may affect yours. But overall a very nice little place.

Pros: safe neighborhood, updated TV w open movie streaming apps, quiet, ready ice, ice trays, nice tub for a bath, updated bathroomCons: Tons of Dog mess in front yard that prevented us from hanging outside at night. Stomping kids upstairs, not enough wash cloths for 5 people. Doors & windows did not securely lock. Half lights not working.

The host was quickly responsive to any questions, including working with me to figure out payment/refund when I cut a day off my reservation. The house was in a convenient neighborhood, pleasant and pretty. It was walkable to a couple of good restaurants and a Safeway, with the downtown area just a bit farther.The one downside was that I picked this place because it had AC (because the last time I visited the area was in a heat wave with no AC!). It was again unusually hot, and the only AC was a window unit, which we ended up not using since we weren't usually there in the daytime, and at night we could open windows and use fans to blow in the cool air. But that's not what I expected when I was hunting for AC! Being a basement apartment kept it cooler too, although it still got pretty warm and stuffy in the children's rooms. There was a small, pleasant patio, and I really appreciated having a few beach blankets and chairs and child's life jacket for a spontaneous beach trip. There was also a nicely stocked kitchen.There was only street parking, but we never had to park more than a couple of blocks away, even returning at night.Overall, it was a great value for that location!

Fantastic place to base a vacation around, it’s within walking distance to parks, great bakeries, and food shopping. The place is spacious with everything needed for a fun, fun, fun time. Best of all, it is dog friendly, and we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy ourself without having our pup with us.

Our family was in town for a family wedding, and had an excellent stay. Michael was very accommodating with us needing to drop off flowers before check-in time, and was an excellent host. The house is very comfortable, and very close to everything we needed to get to. They also had an adorable toy area, which my granddaughter loved to play in. We would stay here again.
