My family including my parents stayed here and had a wonderful time. The house is in an amazing location. We loved the view and enjoyed walking to shops and the beach. Kate was terrific at responding when I had a question and the house had the kitchen amenities and layout that worked well for our family.

Excellently located on the beach and a very short walk to local restaurants. The home has an amazing selection of books, games, and puzzles that our family was able to enjoy from ages 2 to 40. I loved the cleverness of the game tabletop that could be moved between the coffee table and card table. The home was also incredibly quiet and peaceful.A few things to know before you go: The walk through the seagrass on the dunes can be tricky for kids who end up fighting sharp blades of grass in their face. Also, there is a view of the beach, but it is obscured a bit by the dune.

This was our third time back. We always enjoy it here.One of the shades in the living room was broken and couldn't be lowered. The day we left the dishwasher leaked onto the kitchen floor. We called the emergency number and reported it.I also left my laptop computer there. I need to find out who the housekeeper came to clean after we left on Sept. 12th , so the I can retrieve it for security reasons. Great location to walk to town for shopping/groceries. Clean accommodations “inside” w/all the basics. Outside needs some attention in terms of landscaping/path to the beach. Both were overgrown when we stayed there. I expected better considering the price for beachfront accommodations. Shouldn’t have to walk through weeds to access the back deck. Obstructed view of beach/ocean directly behind the house due to SOFT sand dunes. There is a distant view north and south. I would not recommend the path to the beach directly behind the property for anyone physically impaired by handicap or age. Walk south on the street a couple of blocks for an easier/flatter/firmer walk onto the beach.

Thanks Chris, sorry we missed getting the gardener in, hard to keep up sometimes. I will put a note in our listing about access to the beach. When our parents bought the house in 1985, there were no dunes at all but now they get higher every year. Best regards, Mike Hascall

Amazing cabin. My family really loved this place. Very clean, everything you need for a fun weekend at the beach. Beach chairs, beach toys, firewood, puzzles, and board games. Conformable beds and great showers (a must for me). So close to town (1 block). I would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you

The house has large peekaboo views of the ocean from the main living room and the deck. Our 3 yr old grandson loved hiking the path from the house through the dunes to the beach, it was a great adventure. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking all our meals. Check in and check out was easy.

The best thing about this home is the location: you can see the ocean and hear the waves crashing. Just a short walk over the dunes, and you are on the beach. Look to your right, and you can see beautiful cliffs falling into the ocean. Walk 3 minutes, and you are at a coffee shop, hot dog stand, pizza joint, Mexican restaurant, grocery store, and much more. It is vintage, like how beach bungalows were in the 70s and 80s, but that's the charm. Somehow I missed that it has a wood-burning fireplace, but what a treat on cool evenings - there's nothing like the smell of a real wood-burning fire.Lastly, for golfers, casual and serious: do not miss Manzanita Links. 1/2 mile from the house, you can walk there, rent clubs, and play one of the most delightful nine-hole rounds anywhere. I recommend flip-flops so you can play barefoot, which ownership encourages. Also, they have one of the best logos in golf, and the merch is on point.

Our parents, Norm and Lee Hascall, bought the house in 1985. All branches of our family have grown up there and it is truly our favorite place.

Why they chose this property

Gaze at the sea and serenity settles over you. Walk to the top of the dune and the magnificent beach spreads out before you. Two blocks to the main street, what could be better. Guests who may have a hard time walking up the dunes can walk around the block to a flat beach entrance on Laneda Avenue.
