About the host
Hosted by Eve Vanderschmidt
My husband and I are bi-coastal. We have a family home on Cape Cod in Massachusetts (Countryside) as well as our place in North Oakland (Urban). A great mix. We are newly retired and reinventing ourselves... he, as a musician and I, as a chef, gardener and, soon to be, Spanish speaker.
Why they chose this property
Our neighborhood is all about the people. We are lucky to live on a block where children ride bicycles on the street, folks invite us to backyard barbecues, and an ice cream truck cruises our block at sunset. We can easily walk to public transportation and take a bus or BART to San Francisco with ease. At busy traffic times public transportation is faster than driving!
What makes this property unique
Our home is surrounded by gardens. You are in an urban environment with the feeling of quiet and beauty found in the countryside.
The sunny, open floor plan of our home also makes it feel spacious and calm.
