Welcome to Dove Cottage, a little piece of home away from home. This charming property is located in La Jolla Shores, mere steps to the beach, and features two bedrooms, one sleeping loft and 2.5 bathrooms. Enjoy hearing the waves at night, or enjoying a sunset on the third story deck. Relax in the private heated pool (with cover!), or swim laps, your choice. Home features a fenced in yard, outdoor BBQ area and full service eat in kitchen with a cozy fireplace to gather around . The living area is entertainment ready with a flat screen T.V., DVD, Cable, wireless internet throughout, and another cozy fireplace for your enjoyment.
The Master bedroom on lower level has a King 'Sleep Number' adjustable bed, a small twin, a relaxing tub, and separate shower and laundry area. Second floor is the loft which has four twin beds. The third level retreat has a queen bed, an entertainment area, mini-fridge and comfortable seating area. It also boasts a wrap around deck where you can enjoy a gorgeous sunset or a morning cup of coffee.
Did I mention the beach is steps outside the gate? Kellogg Park is right there too, with convenient picnic benches, and playground area.

Private detached Garage apartment may or may not be occupied by a family member at any time at any notice and is not available to rent currently.
No to worry, the garage apartment does not share entrance or yard.
One parking space is are reserved for you right in front of gate and a possibility of a second may be available.

Great La Jolla Shores Vacation Home

We stayed at Dove Cottage for 3 weeks and we were very happy there. Great location, lots of space and the lap pool was a plus. Cheryl was great to work with and the property was as advertised. We will stay there next time we visit La Jolla.

Great house and location

Our family of 7 had a wonderful trip to La Jolla Shores. The home is cleverly laid out to give everyone their own space. The pool, while not huge, was a great addition for the kids. The location couldn’t be better, steps from the park and beach. The owner was easy to interact with and helped with questions throughout our stay. Overall, a great house in the perfect location.

The best time at Dove Cottage

We had a great time and experience! The property was perfect for a spring break for our family of 5. Property manager was fantastic, responsive and provided all the information we needed. The home itself was perfect. Everything we needed to enjoy our time at the beach and beyond was provided. Beach Life !

Amazing stay in La Jolla for spring break with the family. Kids loved the beach and park. Perfect setup for kid boogie boarding. The location is near perfect, easy walking distance to great options for food, and the beach and park are basically in the backyard. Caretaker was responsive, professional and very helpful, we will be back!

WE LOVED THE DOVE COTTAGE!!

This is such a well-loved property. We had great rapport and communication with Cheryl the manager. We loved how warm and cozy the decor was and over all feel of the house. We loved the pool at the end of a beach day and we enjoyed the pics of the family members who have also loved this sweet place. Four nights in Dove Cottage Oasis

This 3 story, fully self contained home is truly a 90 second walk to the park and La Jolla Shores beach. The very long lap pool is great to cool off in, and the walls and trees surrounding the yard feels and sounds very private. The home is roomy and welcoming. The 3rd floor room bed is best for one or two smaller people, the 18 year old loved having the deck available to lounge and watch sunsets from. Our thanks to Peter for being such an easy host to communicate with.

Disappointment

Amazing location and the property itself is pretty special. However, the place was not really clean, was completely cluttered with earlier renters' alcohol, food, etc., and was somewhat in disrepair. When we reached out to the property manager to explain that the oven wasn't working, we got nowhere. Overall, not what we expected at the price.

A great setting for an amazing vacation!

We were thrilled with our stay at the beautiful home. It had more than enough space for two families with kids and a perfect downstairs main bedroom and bathroom for our Mom who is having some mobility issues. The home had all the amenities we would need. My family and I had the third floor room and the view of the ocean was incredible! My sister and her family enjoyed the second floor with that amazing shower and 4 twin beds. The 1/2 bathroom downstairs was very convenient since we spent a lot of time in the living room enjoying the gas fireplace and comfortable furniture. We made many of our meals on the spacious and well appointed kitchen. We also enjoyed the outdoor barbeque and the pool was amazing!! Having two parking spaces at the property and the extremely short walk to the beach meant we were every day! The home was beautifully and comfortably furnished and made us feel right at home. We laughed together harder than we had in a long time sitting in the living room enjoying the fire. We will definitely be back in the future!

Amazing time in Dove Cottage

I rented this beautiful cottage for family our vacation in La Jolla Shores. When we walked in the gate of Dove Cottage my 4 kids (9 yrs, 7 yrs, 4 yrs, and 2yrs old) went crazy. The first thing they had us do was open the heated pool for a swim. The cottage had everything we needed. A well stock kitchen, so much space to spread out, toys and games, BBQ, towels and toys for the beach. The cottage is 2 blocks from the little strip of restaurants and shops on the days we didn't want to cook or drive to eat. It is also 2 blocks from Kellogg's Park and the beach which my 2 little ones called the beach park. From the minute we woke up we grab our coffee and took the kids to the park to get the day started. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and if/when we come back we hope that this cottage will be available to stay again.

Dove Cottage was designed by renowned Architect, Dale Naegle, who's works are a large part of Southern California's History, especially in La Jolla Shores. It was built as a testament of Love from the Patriarch of the family, so that the gererations after could enjoy the beauty of the Shores.

One building removed from busy street and kitty corner from a beachfront hotel and around the corner from restaurants, rentals and activities. Truly a spectacular location. Great for a getaway or family vacation. A gem in La Jolla Shores!
