Gold Run Lodge - All Paved Roads, Minutes To Deadwood, Hot Tub

Gold Run Lodge is a wonderful property on over an acre of land. There’s plenty of room for your toys in the over sized garage, and parking on the property for your trailers. It’s a 2400 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 2-bath home with an enjoyable open floor plan with vaulted ceilings. There’s 2 separate living areas with new furnishings and you’ll get to enjoy air conditioning for the warm summer months.

The property offers a 6-person hot tub, wireless internet, satellite TV/DVD, an electric fireplace, and pool table to enjoy during your stay. There’s a deck off the kitchen dining are and lower level patio, which includes patio furniture and a gas grill. There’s a laundry area off the kitchen and 4 bedrooms - 3 bedrooms (each having a queen bed) and the 4th bedroom has a full-size bed & a twin bed (as a bunkbed). The lower level has a full size sofa sleeper as well.

Gold Run Lodge is close to everything! You’ll be a block away from golf at the Lead Country Club, Spearfish Canyon and Rochford are minutes away, 15 minutes from Historic Deadwood, ¼ mile from the Mickelson Trail (ATV/Snowmobile trails) and 10 - 15 minutes to Terry Peak. It’s a perfect place to enjoy skiing, golfing, riding your motorcycles, ATV’s and snowmobiles and easily come back to your home away from home to enjoy your company!

Summer Vacation in the Hills

Beautiful home in a serene setting. Close to trails for sxs. We had no issues with the Wi-Fi! Communication was great. We would definitely stay again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience staying at this cabin was super. The cabin was spacious and had a warm feel to it. The supplies that were available to us was sufficient and greatly appreciated. We also were please with location and were grateful for the paved roads. Access to the garage was a bonus. It was wonderful to be able to put our motorcycles away at night and have dry seats to sit on the next day. We enjoyed the hot tub a two of the 5 nights we stayed. We loved the location and set up and will definitely keep this cabin in mind for our next stay when we come to the hils.

Driveway drop off and.grass over knee high. Couple of snakes were seen. No railing on stairs was not the safest. Hvac was not the best. May be ok in winter but not summer.

The cabin was very nice and the location was beautiful. We loved the open floor plan.

We never figured out the AC and we thought there was another bed in the bunkroom due to confusion over the description of the listing. However the cabin was lovely and we enjoyed ourselves.

Cute Little Cabin in the Woods

There was just a few flaws, the cabin description said there was internet, but it didn't work and we didn't have cell service in the cabin. There was mold on the basement shower curtain. And thank goodness it was a cool weekend, the window AC didn't cool the cabin very well. But overall, it was a nice place to stay for our weekend in Deadwood.

We rode hundreds of miles without having to trailer anywhere. The garage was great to dry out our ATV bags after getting rained on. There was plenty of parking for our trucks and trailers. It was a convenient location to go into Deadwood-Lead and enjoy the touristy attractions and dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Deadwood Social Club above Saloon 10. Having laundry and two showers helped a great deal as well!

Reviewer Comments: We recently stayed at Gold Run Lodge, and it was the perfect location for the activities mentioned in the title- close to the Mickelson trail for biking, breweries in the area, and only about an hour from the Wildlife Loop. There was plenty of space for our group of 6 (3 couples). The home was well-stocked and clean, and having room for bicycles and one of our vehicles in the garage was nice (not quite room for 2 vehicles as there were some other items already being stored in there when we arrived). There was ample parking in front of the house as well. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and foosball table. One slight disadvantage was the lack of stable internet and cell reception, but I was kind of expecting it based on previous reviews. Communication with the property manager prior to our stay was satisfactory; we did not encounter any issues during our stay that required us to get in contact with them so cannot speak to how that is handled. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend Gold Run Lodge to future renters.

Inaccuracy in the listing-beautiful home

The home itself was perfect for our family of 6. The kitchen had everything we needed and the game room provided extra entertainment. We were VERY disappointed that the list of amenities included internet and we actually booked based on that. We spent most of our time in the Custer area. We decided on Gold Run Lodge largely due to the fact that we would have internet access and could search and plan our days while out there. We were very disappointed to find very spotty and very limited service, which was NOT mentioned in the listing. We stay at the cabins on Terry Peak every year for skiing and the service there is excellent. Knowing we were in the area and internet was listed we booked. I would strongly suggest amending the listing to avoid miscommunication. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the home itself. It was perfect, well kept and clean. We did have to take the battery out of a smoke detector, however because it was chirping upon our arrival. I couldn’t find another 9v battery. Also we did use the grill but I could not find a grill brush to clean up afterwards. The water was turned off when we arrived so we did have to search around a bit to figure that out. Also when I started a load of towels before leaving I got an error message but then figured out it was because the water was turned off on the washer as well. Adding those bits of information in the cabin directions would be helpful as well. We had a great time, and the property manager was very quick to respond to messages.

We do have the WIFI hotspot in the cabin that runs off Verizon service - normally it works very well, but when there's a lot of people using Verizon service in the area, it can slow down a little. We're very sorry for this. Streaming movies like you were requesting to do for your kids can become slow at times as we don't have cable internet in this area. We wish there were more options for internet, but the hotspot does well most of the time. We've replaced the 9V battery in the smoke detector - thanks for letting us know. Thanks again for staying with us.

Lots of space, great to have access to a garage, relaxing entertainment in basement for evening shooting pool, playing fooseball and use of hot tub. Everything listed to enjoy a home away from home. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and come back for another stay. Small issue with wifi but a quick response from manager and figured out. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood and friendly. Great starting point for each days ride.

Reviewer Comments: We planned this trip with family in January trailering our motorcycles over 1300 miles to enjoy the beautiful scenery and fantastic roads in the area. The home was perfectly located for our rides and was extremely clean and well equipped with everything we could ever need or want...with the exception of good internet. Most of the time it wouldn’t be a problem to not have good service but this time I was relying on all of the websites and blogs I had tagged to plan our daily rides for the week. They provide a Verizon jet pack for the internet and it only worked one day out of the whole week. So we had to replan using printed road maps, travel brochures from SD I had fortunately gotten ahead of time. So if you need good internet don’t count on that here.The house was beautiful, beds very comfortable, kitchen very well stocked, hot tub was great after riding all day and appreciated. The roads into the area were paved and easy to get to. The garage was wonderful to keep our bikes in too.lots of room for our rigs to park.The property manager was super to work with and very professional in all our correspondence and questions.It truly was a fantastic trip, location and home to spend our vacation with family.

Great Property/Poor Communication with management

This property provided a wonderful stay for my family of 9. We loved the well stocked kitchen and especially the game room was a hit with our teens. However, the window air conditioner did not work well and no other rooms had air. The week we were there, it was 90 to 100 % every day. Even running our fans at night did not cool the house. I also had several texts with Buddi, the property manager, over not providing any information about where our location was until 6:30 AM the morning we were to check in later that day. I begged for information, as we were going to be in areas that day that would not provide online access, however, she would not send me any information. I still have not received my $300. down payment return or any word on when it might be coming. The home itself was very clean which we were grateful for.

We sent that 3 times leading up to your arrival and didn't get it returned until that morning, and sent the check in details right away. The deposit was also sent back to you 3 days after your departure. Thanks again for staying.

Was told it had AC and yes it does but it’s a window unit up stairs. So it doesn’t do anything for the down stairs area. Now I wasn’t to concerned about it but my guest was upset about it. So I would suggest to let everyone know what kind of ac it has.
