My husband and I loved staying here. It was clean, comfortable, and met our needs. We enjoyed sitting outside viewing the sunrise, sunset, and the stars. Highly recommend staying here.

We visited in early May and loved the stay! Host were very responsive as we needed to contact them for a reason on our end during checkout and they were very helpful! Beautiful view and perfect, efficient unit! Highly recommend!

Amazing Experience

Check-in process and instructions were thorough and easy. The property and views were even better than anticipated. The location was fantastic, especially if you plan on going to Big Bend. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at Fossil Knob Ridge was Great! Our host had everything we needed at the rental. A fully equipped kitchen, which we used almost daily, all bathroom necessities and a beautiful outdoor area with chairs, table, fire pit and grill. But most of all, those windows. Big large windows overlooking nothing but mountains and the sunset. Our host were great. The packet they provided and direction that were given were spot on. Thanks for creating such a wonderful place that put us so close to nature, Big Bend NP and the small west Texes town of Terlingua.

This was a great place to stay. The A/C was nice and cool, the view of the sunsets was stunning. The bed was comfortable and the full kitchen and BBQ helped us not to spend too much on outside food. The stove top was at first hard to figure out but I googled the name on youtube and figured it out. We had one night using the firepit and that was fun, we even made smores. The night sky was beautiful although we had hoped for more stars and to see the Milkyway but we were not able to see it the first night was a bit overcast. But compared to city living there were so many stars in comparison. The road getting to the container was pretty rugged and we could only go about 5 miles an hour but we were warned it was a rocky path but our Sante Fe did ok you just have to drive super slow. But we so enjoyed seeing Big Bend National Park it was so amazing. Thank you for providing for everything we needed. Nick and Amy

Milky Way Perfection!

Loved the cabin, it had EVERYTHING we needed for a 2 night stay under the stars. The best reveal was arriving late at night and awakening the next morning to the canyon stretched out in front of us for miles...that was completely unexpected and very much a surprise! We timed a new moon so that finally, we both could check off from our bucket list seeing the Mily Way in all of it's glory. What an amazing trip!

We had a great time at Fossil Knob! For our NYE trip to Big Bend our priorities were great views, a peaceful setting, and a bit of luxury. Our expectations were met and exceeded. The property is a collection of renovated shipping containers that contain all of the amenities of a typical vacation rental (hot water, a small kitchen, linens, etc.) set against the backdrop of the Terlingua dessert. It is isolated in the right ways while also being proximate to fun activities in the Ghost Town and a mere 45 minutes from the state and national parks. Sierra Vista, our unit, had as of writing this review, an exceptional unobstructed view of the surrounding hills and sunsets. Large windows on the West side allow as much natural light in as you can handle. The A/C works well, the bathroom is functional and cozy, and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare decent meals for up to two people. Check in instructions, though lengthy and very particular, were thorough and clear. The price of this rental is a good bit higher than most in the area but makes up for it with redeemable character and class. This is probably not a good option for those looking for a rugged or budget-friendly West Texas experience, but it suited our needs just fine. It is a comfortable and romantic location to chillax or to launch your Big Bend adventures. Enjoy!

Exactly as advertised, great western views and nice private wall around the patio, AC and ceiling fans overcame the 107F temps outside. Kitchen and outside grill were super handy, as-if the proximity to the Starlight Theater wasn't enough. The entry road is definitely high clearance and front/four wheel drive, take it slow and you'll be fine.
