About the host
Hosted by Cordelia Mcintosh
Coal Point consists of a private peninsula, connected by a footbridge to a small island named after our eldest son. It has been a home-away-from-home for many international visitors over the years. I am trilingual (English, German and some French). I love sharing the natural beauty of this area with my guests, and all it has to offer. Our family is committed to preserving the natural beauty of this unique property for the next generation.
Why they chose this property
Our cottage has been in the family for 3 generations. Visitors always remark on how special this property is. It has inspired both artists and writers. It is truly a refuge in every sense. We feel privileged to observe wildlife in its natural setting from our home on a daily basis. Seasonal changes attract different wildlife, and offer exceptional and varied viewing experiences year-round.
What makes this property unique
360 degree views. Steps from the beach. Exclusive access to private island. Hot tub overlooks the sights and sounds of beautiful Saanich Inlet. Listen to the seagulls call, the sea lions bark, the waves rolling into shore. Relax in the hammock, under our grove of Oak trees, watch the nesting bald eagles fish for dinner. Storm watch during winter months. Snorkel/dive and enjoy abundant sea creatures. Spring herring run makes the ocean come alive with wildlife. Amazing sunsets. Tidal pools. Summer bioluminescence! A 'foodies' delight!...Enjoy visits to a local organic farm stand, winery or fresh fish market in Sidney. Close to amenities, ferry, airport. Near Lochside Trail and Galloping Goose cycle paths.
