About this property
Snowshoe Inn 2 Bed/1 Bath & SAUNA, captivating Alaska Range & Tanana Valley view
With a captivating view of the Alaska Range & Tanana Valley, this Fairbanks home is a gorgeous glimpse of Alaska’s natural beauty. Perched on the hillside among evergreens, you’ll have your own cozy retreat with a light-filled living space, covered patio and PRIVATE SAUNA to help you unwind each evening. You’ll be seven miles from the heart of Fairbanks, three miles to the University of Alaska Museum, UAF cross country ski & snowshoe trails, and five miles from the airport for the perfect combination of easy access and forest solitude. This property is the ground floor only of a larger log home constructed by the owners, with a separate private entrance. Its arctic entry leads to a roomy living/dining area steeped in natural light through a string of south facing windows. The kitchen alongside accommodates convenient meal prep. This comfortable 1150 sq ft suite features two queen bed rooms, a bathroom, and laundry nook with stackable washer & dryer. All rooms are thoughtfully appointed with log highlights and Alaskan art. Lodging amenities include fast Wi-Fi, smart TV and 4-person sauna. Northern Lights are visible from the front yard on memorable ‘aurora nights’ and endless summer evenings may be enjoyed on the outdoor patio with grill, padded furniture, hammock and porch swing as the midnight sun circles the horizon. Gorgeous views of alpenglow on the Alaska Range are visible in every season. The Historic Pump House Restaurant at the foot of Chena Ridge originally housed the pump station that piped water from the Chena River to the water giants at the gold dredge in Ester. This home is situated on the historic Ester Gold Dredge ditch. An original wooden-pipe diversion gate from the gold rush era is nestled among white spruce on the front of the property. From its tranquil forest setting, let SNOWSHOE INN become your gateway to your far north adventures!
