We got together for a fun weekend to catch up with friends and enjoy all that Lake Tahoe has to offer. This rental was fantastic and we loved how open the main level was so that even when we were doing different things, we all still felt like we were together. I’m also convinced you can’t beat the location (if you have a vehicle) as we were far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the seclusion but not so far that we couldn’t easily get to everything we wanted to do. Check in was incredibly easy and check out was as well. Would definitely stay here again. My only helpful tip and regret was there was no pizza cutter. If that’s all I can say negative about the property, that’s saying a lot!

Great stay! Highly recommend

We had a wonderful time at this property! The pictures don't do it justice. It's very clean, comfortable, and accommodating. It's perfect for the whole family. We even made a sledding hill in the front yard.

Our best VRBO stay yet!

I am thoroughly impressed! Myself, my spouse, and 3 other couples travel often together, when we do we always utilize VRBO or those alike. This has been our favorite property to date. The house was so clean, updated, beautifully decorated and so cozy. If we end up back in the area, we will definitely book again!

Great place for a big group!

We just left the elevator house and it was amazing. Everything was clean and exactly as shown on the site. The elevator was the best of all. My mom who was with us is handicapped and cannot do stairs. She loved being able to walk in the front door and get on the elevator to go to any floor she needed. We will definitely be renting here again!

There are high & low points with this rental; for the price, I expected more! The location of the Elevator House is great. When we first entered all the blinds were closed but we quicky discovered that 2 sets of blinds-one overlooking the deck-& one looking out the window over the shuffle board table were broken- with no possible way to fix them. Very frustrating. The couch had an ill-fitted cover and looks nothing like the listing photo. The barbecue on the wooden deck had an overflowing bucket of grease- which had gone outside the limits of the rubber mat & was on the wooden deck deck itself-an extreme fire hazard. The planned meals for the first two nights using the grill had to be terminated. The kitchen had melted spatulas and poor quality utensils; again, disappointing considering the price we paid. The carpet was stained in many places upstairs & needs to be cleaned desperately. The ice maker was worthless. Small table outside was broken. They did send a person to clean the grill. Had it not been for these issues the house was great for our group. The large island & table were amazing & the beds were comfortable. Having to deal with these as we arrived was maddening. Especially the grill!! It should not be my job to sit on hold with management and send photo after photo of things that are broken or dangerous. I felt like I was talking to a bot most of the time with management. Super disappointed with this one!

Thank you for this feedback — I’m sorry these issues affected your stay and that reporting them was so frustrating. I’ve shared your notes with the owner, maintenance, and housekeeping teams. Maintenance has already repaired or scheduled replacement for the broken blinds and inspected the deck and grill; the grease bucket was removed, the grill was deep‑cleaned and safety‑checked, and the rubber mat has been replaced. Housekeeping and the operations team replaced melted spatulas and poor utensils, updated the kitchen inventory, and will replace the small outdoor table. We’ve scheduled a professional carpet cleaning and will evaluate replacement for areas that don’t come clean. The ice maker has been flagged for service or replacement. We also reviewed our guest communication process to reduce hold times and improve follow‑up so reporting problems isn’t a heavy lift for future guests. Thank you for bringing these items to our attention — we hope you’ll consider The Elevator House again so you can see the improvements.

Overall, the home worked well for our family. Loved the access to elevator for our elderly family member. Fireplace is electric and more for ambiance. Due to snow storm, electricity went out multiple times but did come back on with in 10-15 minutes. Only a few candles stocked in the house. Check in was a bit frustrating. Some of our family who had two small children arrived two hours early. We asked for an early check in and all the company wanted to do was nickel and dime us with an additional 75 cost to us.

Home in the Pines

This house is a beautifully well maintained home in the pines. My friend and I stayed here with my 2 small dogs. We were a bit overwhelmed when entering the home to see 3 stories with all our bags to take up but then presently surprised to find it has an elevator! I feel like it was a bit big for my needs but a traveling family vacation home it is! Everything you need to fix meals, games, and close to all the Lake Tahoe activities.

Amazing home!

This home was so perfect for our stay, I wish we could’ve stayed longer. The living room was spacious and comfortable sat everyone for down time with movies or tv. The dining table had plenty of seating for us to all sit together for a family style dinner. The center island gave us so much space to display snack or prep food. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. All of the bedrooms were spacious and very clean. All of the bathrooms were also very clean and equipped with the coolest bidet, that now I might have to upgrade my own to lol. Over all we had a wonderful stay and we had everything we could’ve needed to feel right at home. We would definitely come back for a group getaway

Wow! Amazing!

This home was perfect for our family. There were 7 of us and there was plenty of room. The house is beautiful! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook anything. The huge dining room table was perfect for family dinners and playing games. The living room has a huge TV with excellent sound and a super comfortable very large sofa for relaxing and watching movies. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept so good. The home was very clean. Having the elevator was perfect and made getting luggage into the house and out very easy. The view was exactly what you would hope for when in Tahoe with the pine trees. We will absolutely be going back and really cannot wait!

The Elevator House was an amazing experience. It had all the amenities we could need and was spacious. Lots of room for the 10 people in our party and very clean. Its location was ideal for many daily explorations. I would highly recommend this house and would book again!
