About this property
Modern Luxury Nestled in The Woods
Relax with friends or family immersed in nature at our private, architecturally beautiful, light filled home. Sitting nestled in the trees overlooking the Sandy River, this home is easily adjacent to some of the best hiking trails and outdoor adventure mere minutes away on Mt Hood. Sandy Ridge (world class mountain biking) and the Old Growth Forest walk in Wayside Park, are less than a mile from the house.
A chefs kitchen, outdoor fireplace and grill provide everything you need for some of the best meals of your life after your daily excursions. Relax together on the large living room sectional sofa after dinner for movie time or kids and adults alike can have fun in the Family Playroom with the ping pong table. There is a small separate area ideal for games, art, reading or play for the kids as well.
It is a wonderful retreat for friends, couples or extended family to relax, play, recharge, nourish, and enjoy time together.
Depending on the size of your booking, you will have the option to add on the extra Upstairs King Suite for larger parties! This will be determined at the time of your booking and the number and needs of your party. (Small additional fee for upstairs access.)

About the host
Hosted by Brenda
We love to travel. We appreciate it when people share their homes and pay special attention to detail, both to make us comfortable and feel welcomed. We’d like to extend this to our guests as well. We love music, art, adventure and nature, and love to share it with friends. We are also busy professionals working in larger cities so our time here, at our childhood family home, is always so treasured. We hope you enjoy what we’ve created.
Why they chose this property
We are privileged to be able to watch the sunlight dance through the leaves of the trees as it plays across the large windows in the front of the house, listen to the rain on the tin roof, or hear the river at night and look up at the stars on a clear night without any light pollution. It’s like camping, but in luxury. We are close enough to walk to the river or to the local store. Hop in the car in 20 minutes later on top of Mount Hood to explore nature’s playground.
What makes this property unique
We grew up here on our grandparents homestead. Our father built our original home on this site in 1960. Following in the family’s footsteps, my sister and I bought our family home back at auction and with loving care, dismantled the original cedar and returned it into this modern green energy, consciously constructed family home that it is now. Using green materials we have reconstructed this wonderful family retreat for others to share. Having been raised on this property has given us such an appreciation for nature and family, and we want to share it with others.
