About this property

This is a 1940's Folly original cottage completely renovated. The charm and cozy feel has been left in tack while the updates will inspire guest to go home and be creative with their own homes. The house has two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed with a handmade linen duvet cover and shams. The other room has a day bed surrounded by windows perfect for reading and pulls out to a queen. There is also a pullout sofa. The front porch is fantastic providing people watching and great sunsets while rocking in Eames rocker replicas. The house still sits near the ground and would be great for people not wanting to lug their things up stairs. The front yard has a grapefruit tree and orange tree and the backyard has a beautiful live oak tree with some rope swings to play on. It is in a prime location at only one block from Center St; where the shops and restaurants are and Bert's Market is only one lot away. The beach is an easy two street walkover. This house is a great setting for family memories to be made in throughout the year and long winter escapes for snowbirds.

Folly Beach New year

The house at 206 E Ashley is small but perfect for the two of us. Two blocks from the ocean, short walk of two blocks to Center Street, and near Bert's grocery. Excellent location and accommodations.

Location is everything

The best part about this property is the location. It can not be beat. You also have plenty of parking which is a huge plus on Folly. We never had any issues with noise and overall enjoyed our stay. The only thing I will say is that you can tell the property is due for a good deep cleaning, and an overall face lift. At quick glance every thing looks good but the more you start to look around you can tell the house has had a lot of wear and tear. The patio furniture had some rust. Some fresh paint (inside and out) would do the place wonders and the outside needs some attention like power washing, landscaping, etc. However, you can not beat the location, the price was reasonable, the owners were responsive, and it is great that it is pet friendly. Given location, and especially the price, I would stay here again. Folly is getting so expensive it is hard to find an affordable place.

This is the second time we used this place. The wife and I love the location. Close to the beach and restaurant. Far enough away so no loud noises. We will use this again next year.

It was a great location with our teenage boys ...Bert's Market nextdoor for all snacking needs...beach a block or two away...a hop skip or a jump away from CenterAve.

Omar & Julia are year round Folly Beach residents. Besides managing their rental properties, they own and operate Bert's Market, the only grocery store on Folly Beach. They have 3 daughters and two sons. They manage the cottage for their Father, Bert.

Why they chose this property

This is a classic cottage and is located right next to our other properties including Bert's Market- so it was instantly a no brainer.

What makes this property unique

It is close to the heart of Folly, virtually ground located and has a large yard by Folly standards. Guest will be able to park their cars and enjoy the simple things in life of not being rushed to go anywhere- as everything you need is in walking distance.
