About this property
Queen Anne's Ridge - Long-Range Views Near Desoto State Park
Queen Anne’s Ridge is more than a place to stay — it’s a place to savor. Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, planning a week of outdoor adventures, or just need a quiet place to breathe, we’d be honored to host you.
Welcome to Queen Anne’s Ridge — A Peaceful Retreat with Elegant Style and Breathtaking Views
Tucked away along scenic Culver’s Gap, this mountain hideaway was designed with couples and small groups in mind — a place to slow down, reconnect, and soak in the beauty of the Smoky Mountains.
Whether you're sipping wine on the porch as the sun melts over the valley, or curled up under a blanket by the fire with a good book and a cup of tea, every moment here feels like something out of a storybook.
The Space
Inside, you’ll find a light-filled living room with oversized windows, an electric fireplace, and cozy layers of throw blankets — perfect for movie nights, afternoon naps, or curling up with a good book. The décor strikes a balance between elegance and comfort, with subtle European countryside influences and thoughtful touches throughout.
The fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to whip up anything from a candlelit dinner to a lazy weekend breakfast. The open layout keeps everyone connected, whether you’re cooking, chatting at the table, or playing a board game by the fire.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Queen Anne’s Ridge comfortably sleeps up to four guests in two dreamy bedrooms:
Queen Anne’s Suite – Wake up to the sweeping views of Virgin Valley in this serene room featuring a queen bed, walk-in closet, Roku TV, and en-suite bathroom. The sunsets here are magical — best enjoyed from bed, windows open, with a breeze coming through.
The 'Magnolia Suite' – Cozy and romantic, this bedroom features a chateau-style queen bed, high-quality linens, and (you guessed it) stunning views of the sunset each evening from your bed.
Both full bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels and quality toiletries so you can pack light and settle in with ease.
Outdoor Living
The natural beauty surrounding Queen Anne’s Ridge is the true highlight. Start your day in the porch swing with birdsong and morning mist rolling through the hills. As evening falls, head to the back deck to enjoy dinner at the outdoor dining table as the mountains turn shades of lavender and gold. Birds, deer, and other gentle wildlife are frequent visitors — adding to the peaceful, nature-soaked experience
Thoughtful Extras
- High-speed WiFi
- Full laundry room with washer, dryer, ironing board & iron
- Board games for cozy nights in
- Curated local guide with our favorite spots to explore and dine
Things to Note:
- 3-night minimum stay required
- There are stairs at both entrances, which may not be ideal for all guests
Queen Anne’s Ridge is more than a place to stay — it’s a place to savor.
Come for the views, stay for the serenity, and leave feeling completely renewed.

About the host
Hosted by Gracie Holliday
Hi, I’m Gracie — originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, and now deeply connected to the beautiful mountain town of Fort Payne, Alabama. My love for this area began with my grandmother, Anne, who discovered Fort Payne on the Travel Channel and was so taken by its charm that she made it her home. Queen Anne’s Ridge is named in her honor, and it brings me so much joy to share a place that holds personal meaning.
I had the unique opportunity to start working in vacation rentals at a young age — first helping my mother manage her properties, and eventually becoming a property manager for other VRBO hosts when I was just 16. That early experience shaped my passion for hospitality, and today, I take great pride in creating warm, welcoming spaces that allow guests to truly relax and enjoy their time away.
I believe great hosting is all about the details — a thoughtful layout, a soft throw blanket, the perfect lighting at sunset. With a background in customer service and a love for interior design, I poured my heart into curating Queen Anne’s Ridge to be both elegant and comfortable, blending French-inspired charm with modern ease.
For me, the greatest reward is knowing a guest left smiling — that their stay was seamless, special, and just a little bit unforgettable.

What makes this property unique
Queen Anne’s Ridge is more than just a vacation rental — it’s a carefully curated experience. From the moment guests arrive, they’re greeted with sweeping long-range views, elegant French-inspired decor, and a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere. Every detail, from the cozy throw pillows to the layout of the deck for sunset dining, was chosen with comfort and beauty in mind.
What makes this home truly special is the balance it strikes: secluded, yet accessible; refined, yet inviting. Whether guests are here for a romantic getaway or a restful retreat with loved ones, Queen Anne’s Ridge feels like a hidden gem designed just for them.
This property also has a personal story behind it. It’s named after my grandmother, Anne, who first fell in love with Fort Payne after seeing it on the Travel Channel. That same charm and natural beauty she saw is what I now get to share with guests — and that heart and history is woven into the home itself.
Queen Anne’s Ridge stands out because it offers more than a place to stay. It offers a place to savor.
