Enjoy the perfect balance of comfort, history, and mountain views in Manchester Village while you unwind with the whole family! The Hoyt House was built in 1763 and is one of the oldest homes in the area. It is recently renovated to modern sensibilities but still retains that historic charm, older than the country it sits in, on Manchester’s unique marble sidewalk with beautiful views. Owner-managed by an attentive local family with everything you need to cook a great meal and furniture you can relax on.
Conveniently located in the village along the marble sidewalk, between the Ekwanok County Club and the Equinox Golf Resort & Spa, just down the road from Burr & Burton Academy, Orvis, and Hildene, and an easy drive to Bromley & Stratton! Convenient to all the attractions of Southern Vermont, from skiing, hiking, and fishing to shopping and summer theater.
From the historical entry you move through the spacious living room and dining room into the newly renovated kitchen with gorgeous views including the back of Bromley Mountain--sunrise in the winter is particularly spectacular. Out of the back door is a marble patio and yard overlooking the mountains, with an outdoor dining set in summer. The first floor also features a spacious master suite, study, and 1.5 bathrooms. Upstairs you’ll find 2 more bedrooms, a bath, and a roof deck (furnished in summer), with mountain views in both directions. There is shed storage for skis/boards and bikes.

As this is a historical home, it has its unique attributes, including handblown glass, uneven floors, and other little idiosyncrasies that speak to the legacy of the generations who have called this their home.
Our home shares an adjoining wall with another house, like a townhouse. It is a full house and quite private for a village house. Because of the proximity of neighbors in this quiet little village, we take quiet hours after 10 PM seriously and we cannot allow parties.
Here in rural Vermont, wildlife is part of the experience. The house is professionally cleaned and we do not anticipate that you will encounter anything, but the community coexists with deer, bear, eagles, rodents, insects, and other creatures. There are no refunds for critter sightings, it’s just part of life in the country.
Come enjoy our comfortable, beautifully appointed historic home in an incredibly convenient location in Southern Vermont!
