Cute country cabin

This little place provided what we needed. We enjoy being away from people and driving around looking at nature's beauty. This cabin is a bit remote but we loved it!!

Didn't Work Out

Location of the cabin was beautiful, and the check in process was a breeze. If you were to go in the fall or spring, it would probably be okay but the AC is a single window unit that is not powerful enough for the cabin. House rules states that they want you to use the fan first, but then window unit on low only. This is not enough to circulate airflow to the whole cabin. Upstairs bed is unusable if its hot outside. Upon check in, the cabin was mid to high 80s. After 6 hours of running fans and the ac unit on low as required, cabin was still mid to low 80s. There were also gaps all around the window unit that we tried to block with towels. The only solution the host had was more fans, even after I had expressed concern for a guest with us that has heat sensitivity as a result of a medical condition.Additionally, we found moths in the murphy bed. If it was just a few, we could have dealt with it. Host apologized and told us where the vacuum was. As the afternoon went on, we discovered that moths were everywhere. Curtains, closets, walls, floor. Host said pest control was already scheduled for the week after we were supposed to leave. Host did communicate and responded quickly through the app, however the solutions for these issues were not adequate. This property has so much potential but needs a lot of work and attention to detail. We were unable to complete our stay, but this might work for others interested in a quiet place in the black hills.
