About this property

Cozy cabin w/hot tub, fire pit & fireplace

The Space:

Cool mountain air drifts through the trees as you step onto the porch, the quiet broken only by the sounds of nature around you. The scent of pine mingles with the fresh hint of spring blossoms, inviting you to breathe deeply and unwind. Evenings invite you to sink into the hot tub while the night settles in, and inside, warm light fills the open living space as the fireplace becomes the natural gathering point.

Sleeping arrangements

Two private bedrooms accommodate up to four guests. The main‑level bedroom features a king bed, while the upper‑level bedroom offers a queen bed. A full bathroom serves both rooms, providing convenient access for couples, families, or a small group.

Living space

The bright, two‑story living area flows effortlessly between the loft, seating area, and dining space. Comfortable sofas gather around an indoor fireplace, perfect for board games, movie nights on the Smart TV, or quiet conversation. Central heating keeps the space inviting after a day outdoors.

Kitchen & dining

A fully equipped kitchen lets you prepare meals with ease, and the adjacent dining table seats everyone for shared meals, card games, or a warm cup of coffee while planning the day ahead.

Outdoor living

Step onto the spacious deck and patio to enjoy fresh mountain breezes. String lighting adds a cozy glow after sunset, and a fire pit offers a welcoming spot for s’mores on cooler evenings. The hot tub is available year‑round, especially inviting when the air turns crisp. An outdoor seating area and BBQ grill let you savor the surroundings whenever the weather permits.

Family and pet‑friendly touches

The home welcomes dogs and provides children’s books, toys, dinnerware, and board games. A private entrance and generous outdoor space make traveling with little ones or four‑legged companions easy. Cats are not allowed due to allergies.

Location & surroundings

Nestled in Rio, West Virginia, the cabin sits about 10 minutes from Bryce Resort and within easy reach of state parks, scenic trails, and charming mountain towns. Spring brings gentle hikes and peaceful drives through blooming valleys, all without the crowds of peak season.

Good to know

Wi‑Fi is included and works well for streaming and video calls, though speeds may vary in this remote setting. Seasonal outdoor elements such as leaves or pollen may appear on decks and walkways despite regular cleaning.

Perfect for

Couples seeking a cozy spring retreat, families looking for space to unwind together, or a small group wanting a peaceful base near Bryce Resort. Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub under clear night skies or relaxing fireside indoors, the setting encourages rest, warmth, and quality time together.

We loved our stay here. Very quiet, pretty setting, great hot tub, comfy couch for relaxing. Keep in mind that the road to the house is gravel and very bumpy. Also note that the water has a strong sulfur smell, if you are sensitive to scents. Definitely recommend at stay here for a mountain weekend!

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Red Feather Cottage in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cottage is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
