The Amtrak station is less than 2 miles away, and there are also electric bike stations nearby, including one at The Rock shopping center by 50/50 Brewery. Whether you’re heading to the slopes, lakes, or downtown, getting around from this home is easy and convenient.

Perfect Place for a Week of Skiing

My wife, daughter, and I really enjoyed our stay. The house is clean and comfortable in a great residential neighborhood. The location is tops. Northstar is ~15 minutes (without traffic), historic downtown restaurants are <10 minutes, and Raley’s is even closer. Susan is an excellent host. We will definitely look for this house again the next time we’re up there!

Excellent Truckee/Lake Tahoe house & location

The unit and Susan, the host, are awesome. We had a wonderful time in Truckee/Lake Tahoe and this residence contributed to the experience. It was very clean with everything needed for a great stay - kitchen was totally appointed to accommodate in-house eating; more than enough linens; as well as many things to-do. We had several Reno-based family members who commented warmly about the house and how nice it was kept. All the rooms were large and nicely appointed. The house is a short walk to a few restaurants including a brewery as well as a very short drive to downtown Truckee and Lake Tahoe. Susan was an excellent, prompt, communicator. We would highly recommend staying in this house any time of year.

Amazing House - Best Rental Yet!

The house was super clean, very well stocked kitchen with housewares, etc., comfortable living room furniture, great neighborhood for walking and very close to downtown Truckee, Northstar Resort, Tahoe City/Kings Beach (our destinations). Bedrooms were very nice, roomy, great bedding with lots of extra blankets, comfortable beds, loved having the bunk beds. House was updated and well cared for. Wonderful hosts - the heat was turned on for us before arrival, being able to park in the garage was so nice, great communication and lots of helpful information in advance to make check-in/out easy. Loved the great deck in the backyard, big front yard. You can tell they take pride in this house. My 16 year old son said this was the nicest house we have ever rented (I agree)! I will rent again!

Good for families that are okay with dogs!

Great location and accommodations for families. Unfortunately, the description did not include that the primary owner has a dog in the home when they use it and this the house has dog hair and the smell of dog (as well lots of poop in the backyard). I have allergies and they were aggravated, be aware if you are sensitive! Responsive host, great for pup lovers.

Wonderful stay in Truckee!

My family came to visit us in Truckee and this property was the perfect spot for them to stay. The house is fully stocked with everything you need and the house is warm and cozy. We took advantage of the deck and outdoor areas and had a great time! HIGHLY recommend.

Nice Property but outright dishonesty from the property manager

The property itself was very nice. Great location and as described in the description. The issue came after we left when we were charged and accused of taking, trash bags, toilet paper and detergent, all items consequently we had to make a run to the store to replace during our stay. It is frustrating because I guess we should of alerted her the moment we ran out of TP as to not be accused of stealing. Oh and don't leave any trash as it is deemed excessive if it does not fit in the tiny clear bags they leave under the kitchen sink. We were trying to avoid the situation of putting it outside since a bear got into the neighbors garbage but were instead charged because it was left in the garage. Very upsetting and extremely unprofessional considering most rentals have these basics for your use and if they run out you are not charged twice to replace them. We were also charged for additional 2 hours of cleaning which for a small house of that size I have a very hard time believing could warrant that. We have rented many times and have never had an issue with 'excessive cleaning'. I would suggest you take pictures as you leave so you do not run into a similar situation.

Inside clean and spacious and the beds were super comfortable, unlike a lot of the ski rental properties in the area. Porches were beautiful. Owners ultra responsive to requests. We will definitely stay again.

A true home away from home

Everything was thought of for this home. From kitchen essentials, kid friendly entertainment, and quality surroundings, it was all there. Comfortable and easy to relax in, this home made for a vacation our family will never forget. This was a great house to stay in over the Thanksgiving week! My sister & family lives in the neighborhood and we could not all fit in her place. This house made it so convenient to stay nearby. It was spacious enough for the 4 adults & 1 child in our group...with plenty of room for the cousins to come hang out as well. The house is well supplied with anything you might need. It snowed during our week & it was well equipped for that too...sleds, snow toys, etc. The owner was very responsive in communicating with me & we would definitely stay here again!!

This is a great house! The bunk bed room is perfect for the kids! We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the back deck. It was a short drive to Truckee and the beaches and State Park at Donner Lake. We walked to excellent restaurants and wine tasting for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful, relaxing home in a great location!

This is a wonderful, well cared for home that was very welcoming. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed eating out on the deck each morning and listening to the birds. It was a great location outside the craziness of downtown Truckee but we could get there quickly if we wanted. We enjoyed walking to the winery one night and playing games as the sun set. We highly recommend these accommodations!

Perfect summer retreat for us and our three young boys

It was exactly as shown. Plenty of room for all of us, a large back deck, plenty of green grass to play on, as well as walking distance to the airport and several good restaurants. Super kid friendly with games, current books, and puzzles. Thank you so much for sharing your 2nd home with us. I hope we left it at least as nice as we found it.

About us? We are an active outdoor family who loves skiing, snow boarding, mountain biking, and hiking.

Why they chose this property

Our family of four loves to play in Tahoe. After years of driving back and forth every week, we decided to purchase a home in Tahoe and make it family-friendly to create a comfortable retreat for building precious family memories. When looking for a house, we first selected this neighborhood because of its fabulous location. Then, we patiently waited for a house to come on the market. Very few homes in this area come up for sale. I can see why.

What makes this property unique

When we saw this house, it was love at first sight. The floor plan was perfect for us. The way the living spaces extend outside was exactly what we wanted. Plus, we loved the central location and easy access to the town and the great outdoors. The home has many special touches, including natural lighting, closet built-ins, heated floor tile in the master bath, and sliding shelves in the kitchen cabinets.
