About this property

In-Town Lewes! Walk to Shops & Dining

PLEASE NOTE: As is the norm for most rentals at the Delaware Beaches, guests must supply their own sheets and towels.

Enjoy the amenities of a newer home, surrounded by the quaintness of old town Lewes. The house is located on a quiet street, just one block from the Historic District and Ship Carpenter Square. It is a short walk, past historical houses and beautiful gardens, to the great restaurants and quaint shops on 2nd Street, and Canal front Park.

The indoor spaces are comfortable, inviting and spacious, with a large open great room, private sitting room, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and powder room. French doors and the many windows bring in lots of light and allow breezes to flow through on days you want to skip the AC. But, your favorite spot will undoubtedly be the large screened porch overlooking the private yard and garden...perfect for morning coffee, happy hour, a good book, or just relaxing with family and friends.

Once you are in Lewes, you never have to venture out on to Route 1. Relax on the beach...just an easy mile bike ride is beautiful Lewes Beach on the bay or go an extra mile and a half to Cape Henlopen Park. Here, miles of pristine Atlantic beach stretch from the Cape to Rehoboth . Explore the many bike paths and hiking trails in the park. Kayak in the Canal or Bay. Bike the Junction Breakwater and Gorden's Pond trails that link Lewes and Rehoboth. Take the kids to the playground or play tennis in Canalfront Park. And, of course, dining and shopping in town. If you do want to venture out, Lewes is short drive to great outlet shopping, golf, Rehoboth Beach and other amenities.

The living spaces...
On the first floor, enjoy the openness of the living area, with a comfy sectional sofa, fireplace, flat screen TV with Roku (for access to your favorite apps), and a space perfect for games or puzzles. Enjoy cooking in the spacious, well stocked kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counters and an island with seating for 3. The dining room offers seating for 8 at a large table.

Two sets of french doors bring the outside in, and open these rooms to a large screened porch overlooking the private back yard. It is perfect for relaxing or entertaining with ample seating and a dining table.

Also on the first floor is a powder room and small sitting room with another TV. This room is great if the kids want to watch something different or the guys want to watch the game. Plus, the convertable sofa in this room can be used as an additional bed.

Bedroom & Bathrooms
The bedrooms are on the second floor. The large Main Suite with a cathedral ceiling, has a queen bed, TV, sitting area and an attached main bath with a shower and large vanity. The other two bedrooms share a hall bath, also with a shower and large vanity. The Sunflower Room, with a set of twins beds, has two closets and a window seat...perfect for sharing, and the Coral Room is roomy with a queen bed.

Also on the second floor, is the laundry with extra large capacity washer and dryer, and a small sitting area to escape for some time to yourself.

A private outdoor shower is adjacent to the screened porch, perfect for a hot shower after a day at the beach.

I have been coming to the Delaware Beaches since I was in my twenties. Bike rides often brought me to Lewes during that time. With each visit, I fell in love a little more, and knew it is where I wanted to be. Lewes is quiet, quaint and historic, with great beaches and beautiful natural areas.
