Wonderful stay!

We were in Maine for family time and were incredibly happy at The Old Bell Tavern. I loved everything about the property from the spacious kitchen and dining area, comfy living room and bonus room (although the all white decor had us a little intimidated), fabulous deck and super comfy bedrooms and bathrooms. The hosts were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay!!We did not get to enjoy much of the neighborhood because we were back and forth to Lisbon but we definitely recommend the Brickyard Hollow Butcher Block Craft Pizza - Yummy!!

I’m a retired diplomat who has spent most of my life working and traveling overseas. I bought this amazing old house near my sister in Maine and we spent two years restoring it to its 1773 charm with modern conveniences. It’s my little piece of summer heaven!

Why they chose this property

New Gloucester is a historic village in Maine and this house from 1773 used to serve as the town’s tavern and various other things throughout its long history. Just loved the history and the yard. So relaxing.

What makes this property unique

The house is from 1773 - a tavern, voting location, ice cream shop, inn - its served this community for over 250 years.
