The cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway! We enjoyed the peaceful, private setting and the short walk to the beach. The house was very clean, updated and comfortable. Should we come back to the Hamptons again we would certainly love to stay in the cottage again.
Host was super responsive and easy to reach. The home was tastefully decorated, meticulously maintained and fully stocked with essentials. Host anticipated every need, providing thoughtful touches throughout.
Lovely house, great location with a beautiful bay beach just a few minutes away, very nice and responsive host, mattress in primary bedroom so great it was hard to get out of bed
Les than a 5 minute walk to Sammy’s beach added a great bonus for our stay. Walking to the sunrise, sunset or just getting some ocean breeze was great to not have to pack the car and make a big plan each time (you will have to travel 15 by car for the “regular “ [Oceanside]) beaches). The house is very nice, spacious and set up wellOh and you will get many sightings of deer on the property as they make their morning and evening feeding rounds
Our stay at Cedar Cottage was perfect. From the location (steps from one of the most beautiful beaches in the Hamptons) to the beautiful accommodation, I really couldn't recommend it more. We will be back! Thanks for everything.
We loved everything about our stay here. It was perfect for us. It was very well-appointed and super clean, but also very thoughtfully stocked and laid out. We especially appreciated the modern, tastefully minimal and warm furnishings. Our experience was very positive and we can't wait to return. Julien was very communicative and informative. This was our first VRBO experience, and we felt so lucky to have found this place.
I wish we could have stayed longer at this clean and spacious 3-bedroom home. During our two-day visit, we enjoyed walks along Sammy's Beach and taking drives to explore local downtowns and restaurants. The house was well stocked, with everything we needed to enjoy our visit. The host provided great recommendations of where to eat and places to visit -- and communicated with us clearly at both check in and check out. If you're looking for a place to stay in the East Hampton area that is quiet but not too far from things, this is a great choice.
My husband and three adult sons stayed at Cedar Cottage on our first visit to the Hamptons and had an incredibly wonderful time. The cottage is large, meticulously appointed and organized and perfect for a group of 5. The host does a great job at communicating expectations and anticipating your needs. The location is in a wonderful forest, a short walk from Sammy's beach, so even though it was high season we felt like we had a beach to ourselves. The village of East Hampton is a short drive away with terrific restaurants. Because of the naturalistic setting, we awoke every day to find deer, fawn, and bucks visiting grazing on the lawn. Highly recommend!
Host communication was exceptional. Only hiccup was area beaches are all private parking. We ventured to one in Montauk which was highly recommended for sea glass. The two small pieces wife found were expensive. Ridiculous $150 ticket in 20 space lot. Only 4 vehicles on lot and two of us ticketed. No mention of amount of fine on the parking signs just that a permit was required

Julian and his family were excellent guests. For future reference, there is daily paid beach parking at Atlantic Avenue Beach - (weekdays only and not on holidays). Hither Hills State Park in Montauk has beach parking for non-residents - 7 days a week. Get to the beaches early, especially on the weekends. And, of course, beautiful Sammy’s Beach, a private and accessible bay beach, is just steps away from our cottage.
Very nice house in a quiet, secluded location. We really enjoyed eating and grilling in the backyard. There is a nice big table and a gas grill. Nice kitchen, fully stocked with everything you need. The beach is only 5 minutes walking down the road and it is very quiet and peaceful. You can see some beautiful sunsets there every evening. On the weekdays we had the whole beach to ourselves mostly with no one around. Water there is very clear and calm since it is the bay side, perfect for swimming. Fishing was also really good, we caught a lot of porgies and snappers. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided. Julien is a great guy, he really made sure we would enjoy our stay. One day the wi-fi wasn't working and Julien resolved it with optimum right away. Overall the stay there was amazing and very relaxing. We are definitely coming back next summer.
Our stay at the Cedar Cottage was wonderful in every way. The house is so well appointed, comfortable and in an excellent location and our host extremely responsive and attentive to all our needs. We enjoyed dinners on the deck, walks in the area and swimming and sunsets at the nearby bay beach.
This house is in a gem of a location just a short walk to the bay beach, and perfect for kids. Everything was clean and well stocked. We even tried to extend our stay but of course a place as special as this was booked solid. We hope to return!
We had a wonderful time at Julien’s home. The space is very clean, well maintained and walking distance to the bay—a big plus if you have children. Julien was a great host and everything we needed (beach chairs, towels, etc) was thoughtfully laid out. This is a home we will be keeping in mind for future trips to Northeast Hamptons.
