Our Little House on the Prairie home is located on the picturesque North Fork of Long Island in the peaceful hamlet of Orient with wildlife including deer, hawks, turkeys and rabbits. This quaint property offers a comfortable and cozy stay for guests with front and back covered patios, a Weber gas grill, patio furniture, fire table, central air conditioning, dishwasher, washer/dryer, cable. Netflix, firestick, and WiFi. Less than 1 mile from both Sound and Bay beaches which have spectacular views. Home is located 2.5 miles from Orient State Beach, a 350 acre peninsula with 10 miles of beach front and the Cross Sound Ferry to Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods and Mystic Seaport, CT. Five miles from the historic harbor village of Greenport featuring unique shops, & boutiques, delicious restaurants, ice cream shops, museum, movie theater, antique carousal, Island Ends Golf Course and the ferry to Shelter Island. Wineries throughout the region open year-round for tours and tasting. Kontokosta Winery 4.5 miles from home. Locally grown fruit and vegetables at farm stands. Beautiful Fall weather for pumpkin and apple picking, hayrides, roasted corn, and mazes.

Great North Fork Getaway

The house was a great fit for our family of four plus dog. It is set back from the road on a spacious property, which was often visited by deer. Inside, our favorite room was the kitchen because of the floor-to-ceiling windows and great view of the outdoors (including sunset). The living area was comfy for watching movies and reading. Upstairs, the three bedrooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. Quick access to Greenport and Orient Point. Would be happy to stay at this house again.

Great property

Plenty of room for the four of us. Probably could’ve had a third couple easily. We really enjoyed this property. It had everything we needed, and the host was always available to communicate.

Perfect Weekend Stay for Wedding

Had an amazing time staying at this location with my family and our dog for a long weekend in September. We would definitely stay again next time we are out in the area. The house was exactly as described. We also enjoyed drinking our coffee while watching the deer grazing 100 feet away in the yard each morning.

Wonderful Bucolic Setting

Amazing property. Loved the deers that visited every morning and early evening. Roseanne was a wonderful host that was very responsive. Would definitely stay again.
