This cabin has so much character, it was exactly what we were looking for. The couch was super comfy and has nice linens. The kitchen also had all the cookware I needed.

When I was about to sit down to have dinner with my family . I pulled out one of the dining chairs from the back and the whole back detached. When I communicated this to the host , apparently she was aware of it being loose but not completely Brocken. I am just glad my kids did not sit in a Brocken chair and get hurt Our Che k in was 3:00, we pulled up at 4:00 and the cleaning lady informed us that the original cleaner had an emergency therefore she needed about 15 minutes more to get the cabin ready. I would have appreciated communication from the owner in order for us to stop at a comfortable spot to relax instead of waiting 15 minutes in our truck.. Very poor service to be honest. We found a cockroach in the bunk bed room therefore we had to make a stop on our way back home to wash and dry our laundry. There is no swimming water accessible nearby. You’ll have to drive. I would personally or recommend this cabin for a family vacation.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations.
Regarding your delayed check-in, we did communicate through the VRBO messaging platform that our scheduled cleaner experienced a medical emergency and that a replacement cleaner was on the way. We understand that any delay is inconvenient and appreciate your patience while we ensured the cabin was properly prepared.
Prior to your stay, we were only aware that one spindle had become loose—we had no indication that the chair itself was structurally compromised. As soon as you notified us, we removed the chair from the cabin to ensure it could not be used.
As for water access, while the property does not have private lake access, public access to the water is located less than a mile from the cabin.
We regret that you encountered an insect during your stay. While our cabin is professionally cleaned and routinely treated, it is located in a wooded, rural setting where the occasional insect can unfortunately find its way indoors despite preventative measures.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve the experience for future guests.
Absolutely wonderful!! Close to explorer waterfalls, caverns, and Marina's!! Such a treat to return to the beautiful seclusion of a cute cozy cabin with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing getaway!!
Attending Wakefest 2025… location was in close proximity to the marina for convenience. Road becomes tight and rough, but fortunately no issues. Parking is very limited! Overall good place to stay with comfortable beds.
The cabin was lovely, just what we needed, however there was no access to water for us due to the steep climb. My husband is a cardiac patient so that climb down and back up was not possible. We have kayaks and found a place nearby, thanks to a neighbor, where we could launch the boats. All in all a very nice stay.
Beautiful area of TN with rolling hills and just far enough from a town for a perfect getaway. Easy enough to get to the water, ample state parks near by, and cozy home. The house had everything we needed for a little family getaway! Neighbors were kind and even our dogs enjoyed their stay! 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking to getaway from reality for a couple days (and still have WiFi for the kiddos if need be.)
It was nice, quite and the neighbors were especually nice. To call it a "Lake Cabin" might be stretching it a bit. We have a 4WD vehicle so, no problem. Price was a bit high for what you get but, all in all, it was a wonderful stay.

Short of expectation for price paid - deceiving presentation!
To start off cabin it’s not worth the price paid. It’s been the worst rental experience we ever had. I need positive note, the cabin is cozy and well presented-that I give it, but not clean! After driving 10 hours upon arrival I spent 15 minutes sweeping out the porch and removing spiderwebs, definitely not like the picture showed did not use the barbecue grill because it was covered with webs and it look nasty. The cabin Inside looked presentable but we had to dust the master bedroom ceiling fan-had about a quarter of an inch dust on it; had to take the vacuum and wipes to clean, also The spare bedrooms shelf had to be dusted so that my wife could put our grandson‘s clothes on it and NO-there is no closet, so we couldn’t hang up any of our clothes most of it had to stay in luggage or fold it in the dresser. My wife does not enjoy wearing wrinkled clothes so that was a biggie for us. We wouldn’t have rented the cabin if it did not have closet space. One may get by with a small family of 3-4, but anything bigger everything would have to be kept in the luggage’s. Also the master bed sheets were dirty we noticed at the end when we removed the comforter that the sheets had yellow and black hair n black spots on it towards the foot of the bed; third day in wife and I noticed that our back‘s and legs were starting to itch. we didn’t think anything of it thought it might be insect bite since we went to the falls but then realize it must have been the bed sheets. And last the refrigerator was full of open jars which with the COVID-19 epidemic is not a safe practice. As far as a view there is none all the trees are overgrown nothing maintained and that’s all you see right outside your window. I thought there was a view of the river but there wasn’t. In fact it’s a 15 to 20 minute walk to the river-once I got there it was not clean there was trash around n it smelt like somebody had just smoked weed in the area. I did reach out to Melissa, hostess in charge of our booking, via text-tried calling but my calls dropped, terrible wireless service in the area. I send her some pictures and she did quickly apologize for the condition of the cabin, but only offer me a refund of the cleaning charges, which was minimal. I replied, thanks. But for the work I had to do and the disappointment, I felt 20% discount would be appropriate. She never replied back n haven’t gone any refund! We wouldn’t recommend renting this cabin! Poor customer service!
Our stay was really good, we enjoyed it! Very peaceful , drove over to Pates Ford Marina and had breakfast which was great!I would recommend this cabin!
We had a great time loved the cabin. It was definitely secluded. I was a little nervous the first night but it was fine afterwards. We did not go out after dark. :) The neighbors were really friendly. I would come again but I would make sure that I brought everything that I needed because it was a bit of a drive to go anywhere. It would be for a quiet restful getaway. If you wanted to hide away, this is the place to go......
It was in a desolate area and we did not feel safe. Also access was close to impossible when it rains. We did not even stay there because of the safety concerns.
This was a very nice cabin. Beautiful view. Clean rooms and bathroom. Very nice that the kitchen had food stocked. My kids loved the bunk beds. Perfect cabin for a weekend get away. Only 2 complaints: The coffee maker did not work and the grill was not useable. Because it was covered in mold. Besides that, it was a lovely stay.
Cute little cottage in the woods. Quiet and relaxed location. Easy to get to hiking and water activities at Rock Island, or for a slightly longer trek, to Fall Creek or Burgess Falls. Thanks for a great stay.
We spent 4 days enjoying this cabin,
Clean and comfortable. Great neighbors across the drive.
When they say secluded, they were not kidding. Enjoyed the deck and grill and laughter.
Thank you Mellisa
We had a very relaxing weekend stay. The cabin is decorated nice and has a cozy feel. It is off the beaten path but we liked that. I saw other reviews mention tricky road conditions but they are not bad. I would point out that there is no icemaker so best to bring bagged ice. Very clean, cozy cabin. Perfect for a couple.
Our family enjoyed a quaint get-away in this wooded, river-side property! It provided a sweet location for a Thanksgiving dinner, game nights, and exploring. The owners responded quickly to questions, and the neighbors were friendly!
The house was fabulous! The neighborhood is quiet, and the neighbors are friendly. The house is completely furnished with anything you may need. Melanie was very helpful and quick to respond to all texts. I would definitely stay here again!
