We enjoyed staying at this property immensely. It is very unique, comfortable and well stocked. We appreciated so much that it was pet friendly - even had a canister of dog biscuits! The house is conveniently located to Ithaca and there are multiple state parks close by. Would absolutely book this house again.
This is such a cool property! We absolutely loved it. The view is amazing, the whole house is charming and interesting, and the owners are really nice and make the process very easy. We just wrapped up a four day stay and had a wonderful time.
Overall very happy with our stay. The view off the balcony is beautiful. The house is dog friendly. The kitchen was well stocked with quality China, glassware and pots. We cooked so we appreciated that. The architecture and design of the house with exposed wood, stone and copper is beautiful and artistic. We also appreciated great communication with the owner.
Absolutely GORGEOUS property and views. The exposed wood beams, artistic features and overall vibe made our stay so memorable. Loved watching sunsets out on the deck with amazing views of Ithaca hills and countryside. Our host was very accommodating. The home is filled with board games, extra blankets, dishes, and even a steamer for my daughter's graduation gown! Smart TV worked very well, showers were great, beds super comfortable. This made our daughter's Ithaca College graduation weekend feel like a mini vacation. Highly recommend this place!
Our family's Great American Northeast vacation included this as our second stop. It started in at Acadia National Park where we camped in tents and enjoyed the great outdoors. When we booked this location outside of Ithaca, we were looking for a gentle reintroduction back into showering society. This home feels like a combination of King's Landing, Hobbiton and a heavy dose of Rivendell. It is magical with intricate details. The light, the stone, the wood pieces (trunks covering plumbing under sinks, the piece in the corner of the king sized bedroom that is a beam support but still has part of its branch that was turned into a coat rack, and obviously the beautiful tree lamp in the main room), the intricate iron work (drawer and cabinet pulls, light sconces, the railing on the deck). The "golden hour" of the day and sunsets on the expansive deck overlooking the valley add to this magic. For our purposes, the location was ideal. We visited waterfalls, the Cornell Dairy calves and Dairy Bar, wineries, suspension bridges, and the Corning Glass Museum. It was a family vacation with three generations attending and the hub of it was this home. A nearby dinner recommendation: Antlers was fantastic! We would absolutely stay here again!
We enjoyed the whimsy represented by this house which was clearly built by a passionate craftsman. Our favorite spot was the outdoor terrace on which we started and ended each of our days, enjoying the views of the valley below and the hot air balloons above. A few nits included a moldy washing machine which we had to spend time cleaning in order to use and the need for a few new pots/pans. The outdoor back yard could also use some of extra care. Finally, we would recommend that the owners include a Frequently Asked Questions manual at the property as back up and reinforcement for some of the information that was shared in the preliminary emails. The beds were very comfortable and we had a nice experience that we will remember in this iconic home.
We had a great stay at this VRBO in Ithaca. The property was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. The host was easy to communicate with and made the stay smooth. Overall, it was a welcoming and convenient place to stay, and we would recommend it to other travelers visiting Ithaca.
