About this property

Black Ridge Cabin LLC

Relax with the whole family in this peaceful setting. Black Ridge Cabin is very secluded and quiet. It is off the road , overlooking a small creek where there is always water. Lots of windows to enjoy the scenic views and wildlife anytime of year. Ample space outside on the deck or around the firepit to enjoy nature, play in the creek and just relax. And an added bonus is that we are a hobby farm. So you can enjoy the fowl, peacocks, horses, and other animals. We also have stalls for your horses, and trails very near.
The space
Private, many outside spaces , comfortable indoor spaces. The cabin is located just off the road enough to be very quiet and private with nature all around, but not far enough to be difficult to access easily.
It is located on our small hobby farm and just above a small creek. Outdoor spaces include a covered patio and a paver patio with a firepit for you to enjoy(firewood and starter materials provided). Close to Garden of the Gods, Rim Rock, Pounds Hollow Lake with a beach for swimming and the Iron Furnace, Cave in Rock and the river ferry to Kentucky are an easy drive away. Adjacent to the forest for easy access to trails for hiking and horseback riding. Bicycle trails at Glen O Jones Lake, a few miles away.
Guest access
You will have full access to our 20 acres hobby farm, including the barn where there are peacocks & pigeons located. Quiet low traffic road with access to trails for hiking or horseback riding. Stalls for your horses are located at the cabin and more in the barn.
Other things to note
You can interact with the small animals on our hobby farm if you like. Use caution around the horses. Sam is the dog guarding the animals. He is very friendly and loves pets. We do offer horse and buggy rides for a fee. We now have swings and a slide for the kids.

This house and property are perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts provided so much for our comfort and enjoyment- fire making tools and wood, outdoor games, plenty of blankets and pillows and the best stocked kitchen ever. There was nothing we needed that wasn’t available. We enjoyed cave in the rock and garden of the gods.

The only concern was not realizing the cabin was down a driveway when we pulled up. I didn't see any pictures of the outside of the building so i didn't realize which cabin it was when we arrived till i drove down and see my name. The place was awesome set up and the property is beautiful with the animals.

Amazing place to stay!

The photos honestly don't do this place justice. The cabin is wonderful and is stocked with absolutely everything you could ever need. The fire circle was awesome, and the farm animals were an added bonus, and Sam the dog is an extremely good boy. Hosts were kind and helpful, cabin was very clean, and beds were pretty comfortable. There are also bird feeders that are visible from the living room with a lovely variety of bird vistors, and a creek behind the cabin that we walked around in as well. If we are ever back in the area we would love to stay here again! Highly recommend.

From the moment you turn into the driveway you sense the peace and tranquility. You will not be disappointed with staying at Black Ridge Cabin. We had a wonderful time. Our children loved all the animals. The eggs in the fridge were so good!! You couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Turn your phones off and just enjoy the time with your family! You will not be disappointed! Everything for your stay is provided. Just pack your clothes, food, and drinks. This is the place to be. Ride the ferry, see the Museums and thrift stores in Marion, Ky. Have a picnic at the park. We stayed for our 11 year wedding anniversary and we loved every moment of it. Only downside is that we can’t find the time to stay again because the cabin is very popular. Book the trip to Black Ridge Cabin!!

We stayed at Black Ridge for our spring break, coming from West Virginia, and it was amazing! The inside of the cabin was even better than we expected, very clean, and most basic amenities were already provided for! It’s not to far from most places, like garden of the gods and cave-in-rock; and, exploring the forest behind it as college students was great, and we found plenty of things to take home with us.

We had a great weekend stay! This property was cleaner and more private than other rentals that have other renters close to you. Well stocked with supplies that other places do not provide. Sitting by the fire while watching and listening to the creek below was the best! This will be my first choice for another stay in the area!

It was fantastic. The only reason I didn’t rate it Excellent on “accuracy of online listing” is that the pictures don’t do it justice. It’s even nicer than it looks in the pictures. The hosts were wonderful. The view from the patio is stunning. The kitchen is very nice and very well outfitted. The price is very good for what you get.My wife loved the mattress. We highly recommend this place.

Clean, Peaceful Retreat

Wonderful host. So enjoyable to sit by the fire overlooking the creek for a nice little reset. Everything was so clean in and outside the cabin. They have everything ready for a nice stay. Perfect location to explore Shawnee National Forest. Or just stay and enjoy what is just outside the door.

I am a retired nurse and my husband is retired now also. We moved to this area when we retired to enjoy the horseback riding and animals of our hobby farm. We enjoy sharing our lifestyle with others and are happy to share our animals with people also. We currently have horses, peacocks, fantail pigeons, a few chickens a couple very friendly goats and a guard dog named Sam who stays with the goats.

Why they chose this property

This is usually a quiet neighborhood with friendly people, the kind you can call family even if you aren't related.

What makes this property unique

We are very rural, not a lot of neighbors, a quiet area. we have a small hobby farm with a few animals and are located adjacent to the Shawnee National forest with lots of hiking and sites to see.
