Hi Randy, Thx so much for writing your review. Indeed, we are on well water that contains some minerals sush as iron which gives the rusty taste if you drink directly from the tap. This is the reason we have provided two water-filter pitchers to improve the water quality. Also most of our guests bring in bottled water for drinking if preferred. Due to the water mineral deposit in the water heater, it makes noise when heating as you observed. We put a instruction in the utility room advicing our guests to set the heating level to VANCATION before sleeping and re-set it back to a desired heat-level postion in the morning IF the noise bothers someones sleep the King-size bedroom. Thanks so much for taking time in writing off your review and I am so sorry again for the dishwasher issue that caused inconvenience during your stay. The repair person did not get a right part to fix it so we end up with a brand new dishwasher now, which is great in providing our guests and ourselves a few years trouble-free time!

Thx so much for sharing your experience with us. As to the noise of the water heater, it is due to the mineral buildup inside the heater because of the hard water we have on the island. We have left a note for our guests to let them know about this issue and advise them to turn the heater to the VACATION mode before sleep so it will not generate any noise during night! Thx again for your stay.

Thanks very much for sharing your experience and suggestions with us. As to the issues on the cleanliness (such as thing left behind the garbage can, coffee grounds), it is absolutely our mistake -- we missed these items left! We are very sorry about it. I will bring these issues to our house cleaning person and make sure it will never happen again! As to refrigerator and dishwasher, they are working well. Replacing them with brand new are always ideal and can be easily done, but may not be environmentally good choice, so as the hot water heater. Again we are sorry for the cleanliness issues you identified! BTW, as to the refrigerator, we saw recently that there is even some frost on the top shell in it. So it is definitely working well. As to the concern of the refrigerator not cooling well, there might be because when our guests come in with a lot of things from hot car to put in it, it does need more time to get them cooled. So we would recommend to give it a bit more time to get them cooled. Thanks. Also the dishwasher is just 3 years old.

Thanks very much for your time in writing your review. We truly appreciate it! However there are things that I, as the owner of our vacation house, have to provide some feedback to your issues, not as an argument as we never intend to do it. This is our vacation home. We post it on rental simply because we want more people to enjoy this beautiful island as much as we do while we are not using it. I have to admit that our furniture and setting may not be acceptable to everyone who might expect to enjoy 4/5 star-hotel- like style on an island here on Lopez. But our house is clean, comfortable and well-equipped thanks to our house keeper effort. As to the charbroil grill, I have apologized previously and apologize here again that it is our fault not checking the burners before your arrival. However this propane grill has been used by almost every group of our guests as we clean the grates every simple time, same as the charcoal grill! Indeed we were asked if we could get a replacement immediately and we told the renter timely that we have to order a new set of burners. Now the new burners are here and in, the propane grill is working well now. As the cupboard issue, we are not aware of it until this review. Our house was built new in year 2000 and has been well maintained. Again this is not to dispute to what our guests’ opinions on their experience. Rather we apologize that our vacation did not need your expectations. I welcome all our new guests as well as our return guests who enjoy a country style of living at this vacation house as much as we do, not because a house with crumbling cupboards for sure! We take our guests view seriously, particularly the one with 2 star, which I have not had over the past twenty years :)
