Fathers Day weekend

Cons: BBQ grill didn’t work whatsoever. Door leading from lower level bedroom to lower deck was ‘wide open’ when we arrived?! We searched entire place- no squatters or critters! - but alarming nevertheless.Pros: Very clean! Comfortable. BEAUTIFUL views!

Nice lake property with great views

Great views and quiet area on the lake. We rented a boat and were able to dock it and easily access the house for breaks. Very little traffic that made tubbing very easy. We had a great vacation.

Great location!

We loved our stay! Extremely clean house! Perfect view from the dock! The stairs getting down to the dock were a bit difficult (last step). Only thing that would make it better would be a high top table and chairs to enjoy the view over the balcony. Overall great place!

Beautiful Lakefront Vacation!

We had an absolutely wonderful time away in this lakeside retreat for 4 days!! The large windows & lake views were well worth it!! Everything was very clean & the kitchen was well stocked with dishes even though we didn’t do much cooking there. Our only complaints was the large sectional couch is broken & needs repaired or replaced, & the outside of the property was in desperate need of the grass cut & weeds trimmed. We brought our kayaks with us & launched them at the public access across the lake from the property & kept them on the dock our entire stay & enjoyed it so much! We would definitely stay here again!

Great Thanksgiving Getaway

We had a nice, relaxing family getaway. The views of the lake and the mountains were great! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It was disappointing that none of the fireplaces worked, but they sent someone immediately to try to fix them. Unfortunately, it would have required a specialist and I didn’t want them sending someone over the holiday even though they offered. The hot tub was small, but a nice place to relax at the end of the day. The beds and couches were comfortable. The road getting there was scary at night, but worth it. We would love to go back in summer.

Wonderful Anniversary Stay

The check in process was super easy. Loved the cabin. The property management team was wonderful when we needed something done. They really cared about our experience and made sure it was a great one! I loved how easy it is to check out on the last day. The lake and views were beautiful. We were close to all the fun things to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Swing by the Bush's Bake Bean Museum and Welcome center too! My only issue, and it has nothing to do with the cabin or the company, is the really swerving roads. If you get car sick like I do, just take it slow and you should be fine. Other than that it was an A+ experience!

House is great but location depends on what you're looking to do

First off, the house is good and exactly as featured in photos. The home is secluded and quiet. Douglas Lake is enormous and blissfully quiet sitting outside on the decks. I would highly recommend this house. HOWEVER, the location really depends on how you are going to spend your time in the Smoky Mountains. This house is great if you are planning a LAKE VACATION -staying at home, cooking at home and enjoying the lake. We rented a boat but there were no cleats on the floating dock so be mindful if you plan to rent or bring a boat. If you are planning to visit the attractions in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Smoky Mountain National Park often (daily), then this is not the most convenient. Its 30-45 minutes to everything. Over an hour to get to the National park. 15 minutes just to climb out of the lake. We spent at least 1 1/2 hours in the car most days and had to eat dinner while we were out, instead of coming home showering and going back out. Oddly, there were only 3 restaurants ON the water to access by boat, 1 of which was closed while we were there. Overall, the house itself is great and Douglas Lake is the closest lake if you want the best of all worlds.

Beautiful views

The cabin was nice but not as clean as i would have expected. Needed sweeping for sure. The alarm wasnt set but said it would be. The downstairs living room gets really hot in tbe evenings even with the a/c turned down. The sheets on thr bed were a complete nuisance, they would not stay on the mattress at all no matter what.

Has Potential

Nice house, nice location but lacks the personal touch. Let me start with the positive. The cabin is a good size, has great views and plenty of parking. Sadly this cabin lacks the personal touch and comforts of home. I would recommend updating the video and site information. Example includes lower living room couch has been replaced with a not so comfortable couch and seating upstairs was limited. Also, no outdoor hammock as shown in the video and outdoor fireplace did not work, very disappointing. Could not get any of the three indoor fireplaces (one electric, 2 gas) to work, although staff was helpful and ready to send someone out during the day were out of the house until night which is when we wanted to enjoy the fireplace. I would also recommend removing the computer screen size TVs in the bedrooms with the living room TVs and adding a few 60 inch TVs in the living areas. Finally, the master bedroom was missing a night stand, the bathrooms were missing hand soap, the master shower light was so dim you couldn't see, and the washer/dryer room light did not work. It would go along way to have a small amount of coffee pods, sugar packs and creamer. We forgot to bring coffee and had to go back out after arrival for these items which included another hour drive since this cabin is so far out from civilization. The cabin and yard could use some general updating. Not trying to be negative or picky but the small things matter when you're paying this kind of money.

The views are incredible with the cabin. The area is incredibly peaceful and quiet. What I was so disappointed in was the fact there was no hammock and in one of the pictures showed a lounge chair upstairs. Neither were present. Another thing that was frustrating is that the side of the cabin that faces the water doesn't have any shades to cover the entire window from the sun. So every afternoon it's nearly impossible to sit and watch TV because there is nothing to block the sun. The living rooms (on both floors) get super warm for several hours until the sun goes down. The instructions said there would be an alarm set when we entered the cabin and the alarm wasn't set at all.

Amazing weekend get-away with kids

We rented Lakeside and Lovin It for two nights and had an amazing time. My kids enjoyed swimming and fishing off the dock. The hottub was a perfect way to end the day and watch sunset (which was beautiful by the way). Lots of patio space to enjoy lakeviews. All-in-all it was a fantasitic experience. We hope to be back soon for a longer stay!

Great Cabin!

We stayed here as a family vacation, we have two kids that are 8 and 11. This cabin was very relaxing and comfortable, we really enjoyed the deck outside. The kids had the whole upstairs and they enjoyed the extra space in the gameroom. My only compliant about this location and this is nothing that anyone can fix - The lake is very low due to no rain, so the floating dock sinks down with the lake, making the walk on the dock down to the water, very steep. Had the lake been up a little, this would not have been a concern - but good to note especially if you have issues walking or smaller children. We did use the floating dock to fish and swim from, the water is so clear and deep. The cabin has great parking and was very clean. I highly recommend for families looking to stay on the outside of Gaitlinburg but still close enough to drive there.

Douglas lake stay

What a wonderful vacation spot. Going to Gatlinburg for many years this is a first being on the lake. This location is a gem. The views! The dock to swim and fish from was great!! The gazebo in front of the lake was also a great plus to sit out as a family during the evening hours. Next time we are back this will be our spot. You get everything the water and the smoky mountains. Thank you
