Great house and great location! We brought our dog, she had so much fun running around the wooded yard! The jacuzzi was a great extra ti come home to and relax. Thank you!
We had a very comforting stay at Idyllwild. The cabin had everything one can think if you make you feel at home . The owner is super responsive and helpful. Location was really nice .
This home was a great spot for a quick trip up to the mountains. It was clean and well stocked with what we needed. The jacuzzi was perfect in the chilly morning. The closed-in yard gave us peace of mind with a toddler running around. Great views as well and close to the village.
Cabin was very nice, clean and comfy. Loved the fenced in yard so we could turn the dog and kids loose and not worry about them. That allowed us to relax and ejoy the peacefulness. Great jacuzzi. Kitchen well supplied with all the necessities.
the kids loose and not worry about them
Very pleased with finding this property. As a family with pets finding one so pet friendly is a challenge. The space was clean, included everything we needed, and communication with owner was great! Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to storms, but would definitely stay again if we’re back in the area.
Super comfortable place. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Really nice place. We enjoyed it very much.
The morning views and all the amazing trees all around us was spectacular. We turn off from communication and just relaxed. Very easy to do here. Definitely a comeback.
Our stay was awesome! This cabin is just perfect. Well appointed with lots of thoughtful surprises. Extremely dog friendly without the dog smell. Coffee sideboard was excellent. Tons of games! Cheerful, classy mountain decor and comfy beds. Very special memories were made here! Our host was very sweet. Thank you so much!
My wife and I had a great stay at this quiet, cozy cabin in the mountains. Everything we could possibly need was provided including a full stocked kitchen with all the kitchenware easy to find and even a full rack of species and coffee assortment. The living space is cute and cozy with a door out to the hot tub, grill, and outdoor sitting area. The whole house was spotless and clean with plenty of towels provided for both the bathroom and hot tub, and even little extras like soap provided. We could tell that every detail was thought of. Our dog also had a great time roaming the backyard and we never had to worry about her wandering off with the tall fence all around the house. Thanks for a great stay! We'd recommend this cabin to anyone planning a mountain getaway and look forward to our next visit.
We are 5 women in their 30s-40s who met in nursing school and needed a break from work stress to reconnect somewhere relaxing and tranquil. Janet's cabin was perfect! It was close to town for a trip to my favorite garden center, local shops, and brewery. The hot tub was perfect, the neighborhood was quiet, and the views from the front porch were beautiful! The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The beds are firm, but we slept really well. We didn't bring a dog, but it's got lots of accommodations for one. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would come back!
The bed was comfy, the kitchen spotless, and the living room was the right kind of cozy for a mountain getaway. I felt like the house kind of gave me a hug! Town was close enough to go for a quick stop but far enough that we felt the escape. The host mentioned the fire station across the street but after the noise of LA, we barely noticed them. Sound machines were provided anyway, which I thought was exceptionally kind. We will totally book again. Thank you!
My family and I had a great time at this cabin. Everything needed was there. Clean and comfortable. . We had a slight issue due to the snow and cold- the electronic entry lock was malfunctioning, pipes were frozen, and the heater had an issue- but these things happen during atypical storms so you go with the flow. The owner was immediately available and responsive. We’d come back for sure.

That was an epic storm, at least for California. I was very glad to hear that there were a couple of New Yorkers there to handle it! Thank you so much for your kindness in working through such unusual circumstances! You are more than welcome back anytime !
VRBO double booked this cabin, so when we arrived, someone was already there. Janet the host took it upon herself to find us another cabin in the area so that our trip wasnt ruined! It was not her responsibility or her mistake, we didnt get to see her cabin, but the one she found for us was perfect!
My family and I brought our two dogs and a cat for a visit to Idyllwild for the weekend. We loved this cute VRBO! It had all of the essentials, was extremely clean and the host was very helpful and responsive. The only thing I would note is that if you go during an icy/snowy time of year, the driveway is very steep and my brother struggled to get up the driveway in his 4x4. I had to park at the bottom of the driveway because I had a sedan. This was fine, but we did have to carry things up to the house. Just something to keep in mind for anyone with mobility issues.
Our family stayed for three nights for my husband's birthday. Our host was excellent with communication and very helpful. The place was a little smaller than we expected but we didn't mind it. This is a pet friendly house so every now and then you get a faint smell of that. We arrived while it was snowing and even though our host had already plowed the driveway it was full of snow again and we had a hard time getting up the steep driveway, even with chains (something to be aware of if you're staying while it is snowing) We were looking forward to enjoying the backyard but the patio furniture was covered with snow. (this is not the host's fault, of course) We made the most of it and had a snowman building contest instead. Overall, it was a great weekend and the snow covered landscape helped us capture the most beautiful pictures.

I’m sorry we couldn’t provide a 5 star experience for you. We hear your issues and we made sure to deep clean the carpets and all of the furniture to insure there is zero pet smell.

Just not very nice
Quick 2 day get away from the city. Booked mainly because of fenced in yard for dogs. Parking / turning around is a leap of faith due to neighborhood placing obstacles on there property to assist in this maneuver ( probably tired of it )
Kitchen is extremely dark, first floor is pretty dingy dark and dirty
The carpets had not been vacuumed throughout the house either
Bedrooms on second floor are nice but the motion sensing lights outside the bedroom windows were on and off all night long .. very annoying and difficult to sleep
First floor bathroom is small with dried paint all over the floor that could use a serious cleaning
Shower water at one time was yellow which was a nice touch
Provided towels were about as soft as 100 grit sandpaper and also kinda past their expiration dates
Was booked for 2 nights but had enough after one sleepless annoying night and left
Not again no way and 2 stars is being generous

Our first negative review. I’m sorry you disliked our home so much.
I will say that the house was cleaned, towels are soft, water has never run yellow, there is no dried paint on any floor, and the house is cozy, not bougie. It is also extremely inexpensive. If you want luxury, I’d try a higher priced rental.
Pros: cute place close to townHost was easy to contactPet friendlyCons:The place looked much bigger in the photos (inside & outside) Listing said there were twin beds available but they were not there so we did not have enough beds for all of us. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Key lock code didn’t work. The place was freezing when we arrived so we tried to start the fireplace but the smoke filled the place even though we opened the vent both ways. I feel like a little information would have been helpful like information of using fireplace and how to use things around the place like the heater. Place was hard to find at night in the dark. Address should be illuminated at the bottom of the long driveway. Host was upset with us for leaving a little late because we had to repack car to make long drive more manageable with our big and little dog. Said she had to reschedule cleaning crew which apparently was scheduled the minute we leave. Host said I should have let her know but as we were packing the car I wasn’t aware it would need to be repacked for comfort so I couldn’t have let her know ahead of time because it wasn’t a planned situation and we were in a hurry trying to leave. Overall: okay experience for out first cabin rental

For future information regarding renting - yes, the check out time is firm as cleaners have busy schedules and need to know when they can clean each cabin. Most units have guests leaving at 11am and new guests arriving at 4pm. That’s not a lot of time to get everything washed and cleaned, especially since every guest asks for late check out and early check in. It’s a struggle to get it all done and we just ask that you let us know if you are not leaving at the predetermined time.
Other than that, I’m sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Locks break (that’s why we have a key), not sure why Vrbo told you twin beds as I don’t have that listed (but there is enough to sleep 9 ppl, even though only 6 are allowed), and the heater takes a min to heat the house, which is why we have space heaters. You can always contact your host if you are struggling. We are here to help.
