I was fortunate enough to stay here for most of the summer. The location of the cabin is amazing. The Berkshires, The Catskills, The Adirondacks are all a short distance away. So many great towns nearby too... Great Barrington, Chatham, Hudson, Stockbridge, Lenox, Pittsfield, Woodstock and so many more. Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Tanglewood, MacHayden Theatre, Bearsville Theatre and so many other venues offer some culture and the list of restaurants goes on forever. Farmers markets on weekends, day hikes, road trips , art galleries, antique stores and vintage shops are in abundance. The natural beauty of the region is world renowned and at every turn there is a breathtaking vista. I found the cabin to be very comfortable. It is rustic but has everything you need. It is nestled in the forest with absolute privacy. A beautiful deck is a great spot to listen to nature and recharge. If there is anything that you need your amazing Host will be sure to try and accommodate you. Words cannot accurately describe how special this place is.
We stayed in this little gem for a quick weekend trip to catch a show at Tanglewood, and it was an absolute delight. Our family has been watching Little House on the Prairie lately, so staying in this charming, rustic cabin made it feel like we’d stepped right into the show (PLUS modern conveniences like running water and electricity.)If you’re wondering about the bathroom setup (my 10-year-old insisted we include this detail!), it’s a composting toilet—easy to use and totally manageable.Cozy, peaceful, and full of character—this sweet little house made for a memorable and fun stay. We’d absolutely come back!

About the host
Hosted by Melania Levitsky
We built this cottage for my mother 17 years ago. She wanted to live there four months out of the year to be near us but sadly, she passed after only one summer there. It is such a special spot, and is so beautifully designed, that we decided the best thing to do would be to make sure it is used and appreciated. We renovated it, updated it a bit, and that's where you come in. We were on a another platform, had 4.8 stars on about 41 reviews, and switched to VRBO for various reasons. Check it out!
Why they chose this property
This is one of the most beautiful areas in all of NY state. It's got villages, small towns, culture galore!!! Great people, nature, hiking, and great restaurants. The MacHaydn Theater, Tanglewood, Time & Space Limited in Hudson, 10 minutes to Chatham with the People's Pub, PS 21 , The Brewery, Fiesta Cafe, Bimi's, 40 minutes to Great Barrington. So much more. I love to travel, but when I come back, I always wonder why I left.
What makes this property unique
From the front lawn, by the bonfire pit, you can see the Catskills and its unparalleled sunsets. It is absolutely quiet, but it is three minutes to The Bartlett House in Ghent. We have a lap pool and a hot tub ( NO MORE THAN 15 MINUTES), and adjacent woods with trails and river with a gorge. AMAZING!
