The Gnome Retreat @ 2200 Feet
Escape to a serene and secluded cabin nestled in nature, where breathtaking long range mountain views and the sounds of a creek waterfall await. This cozy retreat features large windows that frame stunning vistas of lush mountains. Relax on the deck with your morning coffee or unwind by the fire pit under a canopy of stars.
This 2/1 mountain-top cabin has amazing long-range mountain views. But wait there’s more – you can hear the sounds of the creek waterfall from the back deck of the cabin and when it rains, you can hear another creek as well, on the other side of the deck. You'll feel like you're in your own secluded paradise. Bring your dogs, your boat, your fishing poles and all your toys. There's plenty of parking and we're only 13 minutes from Lake Chatuge and a few marinas. There are numerous hiking trails in the area and we're half hour north of Helen and one hour east of Blue Ridge. We are also 20 minutes from the Appalachian Trail and 25 minutes to the Brasstown Bald. There are countless adventures waiting for you.
How is the road to the cabin?
This cabin is on top of a mountain. About 1/4 mile of the road to the cabin is unpaved. If it rains, it may be difficult to comfortably drive up in a sedan. For this reason, although it's possible to drive up in a regular sedan if you have mountain-driving skills, we still ask that you come in a 4x4 or an all-wheel drive vehicle. Also, there are 2 ways to get here. One of the ways is very rough. Please follow the directions that will be sent to you after booking.
Are pets allowed?
We are a dog-friendly property and we have a fenced in yard, so you can let them run free. If you're allergic to dogs, please don't book. We allow up to 2 adult dogs. Puppies are not allowed. We are not charging a pet fee at this time, however, if your dog sheds, please be kind and leave a tip for our cleaner. The cleaning fee charged does not cover excessive pet hair removal. Also, dogs may not be left alone in/at the cabin. There are a few doggy daycares in the area that are very affordable.
Are infants and toddlers allowed?
Our cabin is not child-proofed. If you decide to bring a young child, you are responsible for taking all precautions and for bringing all needed supplies.
Do you have a hot tub?
No.
Are there stairs to get into the cabin?
There are only 3 steps. Once inside, there are stairs to get to the loft bedroom. The master bedroom and the bathroom are on the first floor.
Do you have Wifi?
We have unlimited, fast Wifi. We also have an office area, with a monitor and printer.
Does your cabin have privacy?
Yes, our cabin is very private. During the spring, summer and fall months, you won’t even see the neighbors' houses from our deck.
What kind of TV’s/entertainment do you have?
We have 3 large TV’s (one in each room), a Blu-Ray DVD player and many DVD’s, books and board games. We also have a reading nook in the master bedroom with a large papasan chair and reading lamp.
What kind of exterior features do you have?
We have a huge deck and patio area, a firepit and a gas grill. We do not provide firewood, so please bring your own. Our front and back yard are pretty flat, so you can bring your own outdoor games to enjoy.
Do you have a fully stocked kitchen?
Yes, our kitchen is fully stocked. We have new, non-toxic pots and pans, glass cook wear and all cooking utensils. We also have a Ninja food processor, a blender, a sandwich maker, a waffle maker, a coffee grinder, Keurig and a regular coffee maker. The only thing we're missing is a dishwasher.
Do you have a fireplace?
We have an electric fireplace. The heater function can be kept off, if you just want the fireplace on for ambiance.
Do you have a washer and dryer?
Yes.
How far is the grocery store?
There’s an Ingles 15 minutes away from the property.
What's with the gnome theme?
