An extremely spacious 1 bedroom apartment offering a massive master bedroom with 4 poster King bed - (more beds can be added if needed) - and private balcony overlooking our tropical forest preserve, a private bathroom plus a very large open concept living/dining room, and fully equipped kitchen with open breakfast bar. The living area (with a Single and a Double couch for extra guests) offers a walk-out to the large, private, entry terrace which forms a perfect outdoor living and dining space. Paddle fans are placed both inside and outside complementing the almost constant and refreshingly soft breezes.
Very large windows allow views that are absolutely spectacular! Our large tropical pool - is just a moment away. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Nature, softly rolling surf, singing birds, and general well-being encouraged by your private surroundings!
- If more space is required, an adjacent suite - (Suite 204 - HomeAway/VRBO listing 4568387) – and or a large 1 bedroom – (Suite 202 - HomeAway listing 4536146) – on the main floor of this Villa can also be added.
Prices are based on the occupancy of 2 persons per bedroom. Each additional guest is charged $20/night. Additional beds can be arranged for with Management.

Accommodations feature high ceilings clad in rich tropical woods, complemented with regional art & ceramics throughout. Walls of glass and wrap-around terraces allow breathtaking views of the surrounding ocean, hills, and valleys, uniting you with Nature at your doorstep. Many varieties of birds and animals, including hummingbirds, parrots, butterflies, iguanas, monkeys, mapaches, even ocelots and other wild cats, coatimundi, armadillos, and anteaters inhabit the surrounding hills and valleys of our private preserve.
Mere minutes from your Villa are supermarkets, shops, hotels, discos, 4 world-class golf courses, casinos, and restaurants to satisfy the most demanding palate. An onsite BBQ is available for grillers. (Bring home your catch, steaks, shrimp, etc., and share with friends and family!).
Adventure activities on land and sea are all within easy reach. Snorkelling, surfing, beaching, birding, sailing, fishing - (onshore and offshore) - can easily be arranged. Land activities include several area zip lines, horseback riding, ATV adventures, hiking to a volcano, mud, and mineral hot spring baths, biking, river rafting, exploring waterfalls and so much more that can be easily arranged for you. We are always here for your comfort and convenience.
Wi-Fi is widely available throughout the property, so keeping in touch should not be a problem.
If the sedentary life appeals, lounge under the palms by our oasis-like 42-foot pool, and enjoy our beautiful tropical gardens. Do it all - or nothing at all!

Best Ever

Igor has a wonderful slice of paradise in CR. Accommodations, pool and gardens were beautiful. We rented a golf cart and were able to access everything in the area. I highly recommend staying here. We've already booked for a month nest year.

Beautiful Spot

Our host, Igor, is wonderful and treats you like family. The location is up the hill from Potrero and Flamingo beaches. The views are wonderful. There are two pools on site. The grounds are beautiful. This is a quiet, relaxing spot. Many of the guests return to Igor's every year. If you don't have a car, I highly recommend renting a golf cart to get around. Book before you get here because they are in short supply. I recommend ECCR (Flamingo Beach Golf Carts). Everyone in CR uses WhatsApp and ECCR can be contacted that way. In the 7 weeks we were here, we had 20 minutes of rain. Sunny and hot every day. Maid service (twice weekly), soap, and shampoo are included with your stay. The kitchen is well equipped. I highly recommend this place.

Oasis de paix et de beauté

La suite 203 a comblé toutes nos attentes. Superbe vue d’un grand balcon en avant à l’étage donnant sur une grande piscine bien entretenue et végétation luxuriante avec la mer à l’arrière-plan. À chaque jour un superbe coucher de soleil. Nous avons resté un mois dans cet oasis au début de 2023. Le propriétaire Igor est un homme accueillant et attentif à nos besoins. Cuisine équipée de manière satisfaisante mais aucun aliment de base n’est fourni. Belle corde à linge a l’arrière sur un deuxième balcon adjacent à la chambre de belle dimension avec plein de rangement. Grande salle de bain. La localisation de la suite fait en sorte que nous n’avons jamais utilisé l’air climatisé; ventilateur suffit. Plusieurs plages sont à proximité. Nous avions un 4x4 pour nous déplacer malgré qu’une auto aurait suffi si ce n’était qu’on a fait des excursions à l’arrière-pays sur routes non asphaltées et cahoteuses. Un petit marché à 15 minutes de marche était bien garni en victuailles. Pour une grande épicerie, on se rendait à Huacas à 20 minutes de route. Plusieurs restos aux alentours.

Fantastic!

A big thanks to Igor and Tom! We spent 75 days at their Villa and it was more that we could have asked for. The proximity to beaches and restaurants was really perfect, and the Villa itself was paradise!!

A little bit of paradise!!

Loved Villa Casa Loma!!! Lovely villas perched on top of a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean with the hills behind you as a beautiful backdrop. Amazing views and sunsets!! The grounds surrounding are lush and beautiful with little pathways and steps separating the different villas. There were two pools that were lovely to swim in after a day exploring or at the beach. We loved our villa overlooking the pool. A lovely one bedroom with a front balcony and back balcony so open and breezy that you didn't feel the need for air conditioning. The place was very clean and well thought out with a full kitchen with everything you need. The best part however was Tom one of the owners. (We didn't get to meet Igor as he was away unfortunately). Such a sweet man and made us feel very welcome. There are a lot of restaurants nearby plus grocery stores if you wish to eat in. Costa Rica has something for everyone whether it's adventure or just relaxing on the beach. We definitely plan on going back!!

Hi, Jackie! Kind thanks for your observations. It is almost lonely around here without you and Burt to brighten each beautiful, sunny day! (So sorry that Igor was not able to meet you both, but we hope that the next time wanderlust calls, you will return to our little corner of Paradise and Igor will be here...) We are currently enjoying a few "quiet days" before the Easter crowd arrives and are concentrating on catching our breath and tending to more urgent matters - like attending St. Patrick's Day festivities at Marie's Restaurant and chilling out at Las Catalinas or some of the new restaurants in the area. As you noted, our two swimming pools are always a welcome respite after an arduous day at one of the area's amazing beaches, or zip lining, fishing, trail riding, tennis, snorkeling or any of the almost endless list of activities available here... Do come back to this gentle land. Costa Rica is missing you both! PURA VIDA! Tom and Igor

A Wonderful Spot for a Little R & R

My wife and I spent the months of February and March 2017, at Villas Casa Loma, and loved the place. This was our third trip to this part of Costa Rica, but the first time we had stayed at this location. The owners, Igor and Tom, have created their own little paradise, in an area where the sun sun shines everyday during the first months of the year, and the temperatures are certainly nice and warm. The location of the property offers stunning views of the sunsets over the water of Flamingo Bay, and the owners have planted much vegetation around the property, giving it a lush feel, even in the dry season, and a haven for many birds. The two pools are perfect to lounge around, or take a nice dip after a day at the beach. Our unit had lots of space with wonderful views, a comfortable bed, large bathroom, and a kitchen that was equipped with everything you needed to prepare meals. The furniture, both inside and out, was perfect for this part of the world, and the large art works added a splash of color to the interior. The owners were helpful when we needed information, and assisted us in locating both a dentist and medical assistance during our stay. When we needed the medical assistance, we didn't have a car, so Igor ran us over to the Pharmacy in his truck, which was greatly appreciated. The housekeeping and grounds staff did a great job keeping the place neat and tidy. We only had a car for part of our stay, but as we like to walk, didn't find it a problem getting to the beaches, bank, grocery store or restaurants in the area. You can also use the local bus service, or local taxis if you want to go farther afield. Overall, we were very happy we chose Villas Casa Loma, and would certainly recommend it

A fantastic place!!!

The best recommendation for a place we believe is to return! This spring was our second visit in mid-March and while very hot it did not matter. We come to completely relax, swim, read, wander the great country side, take in some of the wonderful natural sites, eg a trip down the Tempisque River, visit the cloud forest and the Aranal area. Tim and Igor manage Casa Loma beautifully, the grounds are beautifully maintained as well as beautiful to view, the swimming pool is perfect, large enough to be able to get a good lap in and never crowded when we were there. We had an efficiency apartment so we could get meals to ourselves if we decided to do so, although there are plenty of eating places within a quick drive. I would return without hesitation.

Here at Villas Casa Loma we are blessed to have easy access to many exciting and interesting places to dine, to visit and to experience. Although our setting is in about the most arid part of the country, we take great pride in our lush gardens and the fascinating birds and wildlife that they attract. Since the road in front of our property has been fully paved, the howler monkeys again have found a "bridge" across the road, so we are blessed with their presence frequently. Ottawa Visitors

When we began to look at places to stay, we wanted a safe , central location so that we didn't have to move every few days and a work colleague had recommended this villa. We have 3 teenagers from 14-19 and Villas Casa Loma was perfect because it was central to all sorts of attractions - you can walk to the beaches, Tamarindo is about a half hour away, there is a great small Don Pinos small grocery store walking distance awa with a larger grocery store (Super Compte? Forgot the exact name but it is about 10mins away in Brasilito), a small bakery...The owners are very helpful, charming and honest about a couple of spots we wanted to see that they felt would not meet our needs given the length of time that we were there. Some of the things that we did : surf lessons at the Tamarindo surf shop, Sunset Catamaran cruise booked through Ecotours in Playa Flamingo, horseback riding and evening BBQ at The Black Stallion Ranch, Jet skiing, Body surfing at Playa Avellanas ( go to Lola's restaurant right on the beach), ziplining at Monkey Jungle near Tamarindo, Waterrafting cruise thru Rios Tropicales just outside of Liberia) just to name a few things. Of course you can just relax on the beaches too if that's your preference - we liked that we had a virtual buffet of great activities nearby. If you prefer not to cook dinner every night, there are several dinner spots nearby as well. Another small plus here is that you could even have a load of laundry done for a nominal fee. The property is great for couples or for small groups - our villa had screens which provided a lovely breeze instead of air conditioning and you could hear some of the animals ( monkeys) at night and the birds in the morning. In the back of your mind you are hopeful that the spot you book on-line meets your expectations in reality. This spot does. So many great memories staying here- we would return again to this natural paradise in a heartbeat!

Why they chose this property

After travelling extensively through many countries of the world, we came to Costa Rica for the first time more than 30 years ago and instantly fell in love with the nature, people, flora and fauna of this gentle country. Almost 30 years ago (1989) we purchased a very large natural preserve nestled above the Pacific Ocean in a very sleepy, quiet community of Flamingo Beach in the Pacific North-Western province of Guanacaste. We never looked back - never regretted this decision. In fact, we started by building our first house. Then a guest house, followed by a pool. Before we knew it, we had designed and built a unique complex of beautiful Villas with 2 large pools - all built with the highest regard for their tropical surroundings and natural setting. From every window or terrace, one can appreciate the magic of Nature. It has been very rewarding personally for us to create this unique little corner of Paradise!
