Just off of Barnhill Rd on the way to popular Harding's Beach, this air conditioned, updated three bedroom house offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere perfect for families or couples. Nestled down a private road in a quiet neighborhood of mostly seasonal homes,you will be only a short 4-5 minute stroll to Barn Hill town landing on the beautiful Oyster River. Although there is no swimming beach here, it does have a public boat ramp and is a nice place to just wander to and appreciate the scenery and tranquility. Kids will love going back day after day to poke around the shore looking for horseshoe crabs or watching the local shell fishermen bring in their day's catch.
About a 15 minute walk, short bike ride or quick drive in the other direction is beautiful Harding's Beach with public facilities, lifeguards and a canteen truck. Other popular beaches, including fresh water ponds, are also close by.
The home has a nice enclosed private deck with tables and chairs and a gas grill. And the adjacent brick patio offers some shade surrounded by a flowering cherry tree and perennial plantings.
The house features a cozy living room with Roku TV and a DVD player. The updated kitchen with adjoining dining area also serves as additional living space with a spacious dining room table perfect for night time board games. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a nice island with bar stool seating. The first floor has two bedrooms, one with twin beds, the other with a queen. The first floor bathroom was recently fully renovated
Upstairs is a master bedroom with a queen size bed, TV , small deck overlooking the patio, and full bath featuring a jacuzzi tub!!
All bedrooms have ceiling fans. The livingroom also has a ceiling fan.
Besides all of the various beaches, Chatham has plenty of other activities to offer....A couple of small museums, seal watching, fishing, public tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, great bike trails, golf, beach yoga, health and fitness club, kayaking, sailing ..........
At night we have many restaurants from casual pizza or fried clams to fine dining. Chatham Anglers baseball under the lights at Veteran's Field, several summer concert series and the famous friday night Chatham Band concerts in Kate Gould Park.
Possible day trips from Chatham might include the JFK Museum in Hyannis, Heritage Plantatioin Sandwich, Provincetown on the very tip of Cape Cod, Boston and all it's historical sights,(and Red Sox games), or take the ferry in neighboring Harwich to Nantucket. Owners are avid pickle ball players and would be happy to have you join us in a game!!

Bob's house was perfect for our visit to Cape Cod. The location on Cape Cod's "elbow" was central and convenient to every place we visited (Hyannis, Provincetown, and many stops in between). Bob was quick to respond to questions, and he even brought a DVD player to the house so we could watch some old family home movies we wanted to show our daughter! The neighborhood was quiet and secluded but close to restaurants and shops. We would stay here again!

The owner was amazingly responsive both before and during our stay. The house was updated, clean, and spacious with several amenities. Close enough to walk to the beach, close to the rail trail, close to shops and restaurants. Quiet, relaxing neighborhood. Very peaceful. Had a great stay!

Comfortable Cottage, Ideally located

We chose this cottage because we had never stayed in Chatham before. This location was ideal for quick access to lovely Harding Beach and just around the corner from a picturesque town dock. We found the accommodations impeccably clean and comfortable, uncluttered and bright. We appreciated the skylights throughout the home in addition to nice large windows in the dining area, the living room and the master suit upstairs. There is a tastefully renovated bathroom on the first floor and a jacuzzi bath upstairs. Our host, Bob, was wonderfully welcoming and accommodating. We would not hesitate to choose this cottage in the future visits to the Cape.

Perfect Family Cottage

The property owner was very nice and welcoming. The home was spotless, and I am a clean freak. We enjoyed how open the cottage was inside with lots of natural light from the skylights. Having said that the cottage still maintained one's privacy. The home has been kept updated throughout...like the baths, the deck and kitchen but still had a "Capey" Chatham feel. The location was great as well only a short distance to Harding's Beach and close the Chatham Center. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay!

We were 4 adults, 7 year old and a dog. We absolutely loved our stay at this property. It is spacious and has an open floor plan. The patio was fun to hang out in, grill and enjoy wine. The house sits on a quiet path is 4 minutes from the Oyster river. Harding beach is a 5 min drive. We spent time at both. Bob was polite, responsive and efficient. He stopped by when we checked in to make sure that our questions were addressed. Terrific time. We will be back. We love Chatham!

Great house in Chatham near Hardings Beach

My husband and I have rented many properties over the years in the U.S. and abroad. This one was one of the nicest. The house was immaculate, and the layout worked out very well for us and our son and family who visited for a few nights. The house has a lot of natural light with both windows and skylights. The kitchen was spacious with an island with seating and a large table. We liked that the king bedroom and bath were upstairs and away from the other two bedrooms. The house is a five minute drive from Hardings beach or a 20 minute pleasant walk down Hardings Beach Road which is 5 minutes from the house. We like to bike but not on busy roads, so we drove 10 minutes to one of the parking areas for the Rail Trail which worked out fine. We were happy that the owner, Bob Sneden, installed Split AC units in the house recently since the Cape can get muggy in the summer. He was wonderful to work with, and kept in touch with us since we had to delay our stay by a day due to a hurricane. We look forward to staying here again.

I was born in New York but my family moved, when I was ten years old, to Chatham, where we always spent our annual two week summer vacation.
While in high school I started mowing lawns and doing other yard work to earn money. That was a long time ago and I'm still at it! I've been running my own small landscaping maintenance business for about 40 years now with about 100 accounts,all in Chatham. Many of them are rental properties and I always thought I'd like to own a rental property of my own. Now I do!
Other interests of mine include music....I'm a big jazz fan and enjoy checking out the local live music scene. Also I am a 30 year member of the Chatham Town Band.(trombone... come up and say 'hello' if you go to the Friday night concert !). And I love traveling in the off season winter months. These days I spend a good part of the winter in Bali, Indonesia and Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Having lived here nearly my entire life, I know Chatham well and live nearby.I will be glad to help make your vacation stay as enjoyable as possible in any way I can. Need a suggestion for a local seafood restaurant? Need something to do with the kids on a rainy day? Don't hesitate to pick up the phone to ask for advice!
