Paid for Stayed 2 nights
Did not bring dog however on request owner said it would be ok. Found out about construction outside by past post as pictures are old. Post initiated us to inquire about construction where owner was very truthful about situations. Write up and photos need update. Cottage not as clean as should be for renting. Paid for 5 stayed for 2 should say it all.

Needs a dumpster
Cupboard was locked that key was supposed to be in. Had to wait for cleaning lady to come and give us hers. House is filled with old, unusable, dirty, dusty items. Lamps don’t work. Beds uncomfortable, futon uncomfortable. Bathroom filled with expired (2006!) items. Any drawers stuffed with old items. Any hooks covered with more stuff. Nowhere to put your things! Many many cobwebs! Yard unkept, too!

Pictures are outdated of Lake, and house was not clean
We had been told there were issues with the seawall, not that the seawall was just piles of rocks. The picture of the previous seawall was old. There were cobwebs going from the bathroom ceiling the light fixture. Food still on cutting board. There was dust on the knick-knacks in the picture window. The boat lift was your view out the picture window. We chose this for the lakeview . False advertising. This is for starters.
Overall our experience was very good. We knew going in there wasn't water access. That would have made it much nicer for us. We had 6 adults and were surprised we didn't feel cramped. Housekeeping might work on the cobwebs.
Cabin met all of our needs. neighbors were very friendly, invited us over to use their fire pit, great view of the lake. beds were comfortable, cabin was clean. Would rent again. Owner was easy to work with.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The home is located in a lovely lake community, close to Tawas City, and the view from both inside and outside the home is breathtaking. The home itself is warm and inviting, with a very up-northy cabin feel. The beds were comfy, the living room had plenty of places to sit and chill after a long day. My grandson loved watching movies on the bunk bed at the end of long days, while adults played cards at the table. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, along with an outside grill. It was easy to get to beaches, restaurants and stores, and we appreciated how diligent everyone in the area was about wearing masks and social distancing. Bob was very easy to work with through the whole process. My kids have already requested we stay at this home again next summer.

not a good experience / stay
the mbr bed was sufficient for sleep, but other needed beds left unused. Owner wants to keep entire deposit : 1. false kitchen drawer front came off after previous repair 2. plaque fell off wall 3. owner couldn't initially locate keys and had no spare - billed his trip to deliver 2nd set to deposit.

Nice cozy cottage. Exactly what I expected from the pictures.
Basic little cottage on Saginaw bay. Clean, all appliances worked, had everything we needed for dishes and utensils. Only thing I would recommend is that if you plan on going in water bring some water shoes, it is rocky.

Cozy cottage
This was exactly what we wanted. We all enjoyed the quirkiness and relaxed attitude of this cabin. Everything was provided, and we really appreciated the washer and dryer. There was a little problem with the wiring: we couldn'the run the microwave and coffee pot at the same time, or the dryer and microwave at the same time, but, we got used to it. It was very quiet, and the neighbors were very nice. It could have been a touch cleaner.

Could be so much more
Awesome location and so much potential. If you need a place to stay it's fine, but it's cluttered and not very clean. I hate to leave a negative review because the owner is a nice and accommodating man but there were spider webs everywhere when we got there, the tv doesn't really work and the place looks like it wasn't vacuumed in a long time. It could be an awesome place with some de-cluttering and some cleaning.

Enjoyed the stay
Nice place right on the water. We enjoyed the view and the breeze. The place is old, but has a nice cottage charm to it. We came on a fishing trip and needed a place to rest our heads. The bathroom is small and so are the bedrooms, but met our needs. Wireless internet access was a big bonus, since 3G service is hard to come by around the shoreline. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. I'd stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Bob
We have enjoyed 'Pure Michigan' all our lives. Living and working in northwest Detroit suburbs we enjoy our Tawas getaway escapes. Not too far (about 3 hours) we can quickly get into our rest and relaxation mode. As always the lake levels change. At times there is quite a bit of beach, and at other times the water is up to the breakwall.
Why they chose this property
Family owned since 1955, four generations have been able to spend many summers and created great memories. Many updates have been added through the years with careful preservation of the past as well.
