Thank you so much!! :) We do love this particular spot on the water. It’s quiet and like your own mini - retreat. We hope to have you back sometime!! Thank you for staying with us!!
Thank you Drew!! That is a huge compliment as that is the experience we want for everyone-unplug and a little nostalgia of cabin lake life!! 😀Hope to see you all again in the future!! Have a great year All the best. De Ann.
Check in was easy and check out. Grill and boats could have used a cleaning but overall house was clean.

From the owner, "Thanks, Chris! We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and found check-in and check-out easy. We really appreciate the feedback and will be keeping a closer eye on those little details moving forward — we do our best to have everything guest-ready. The grill is checked between each stay, and the boats are outdoor seasonal items that get a thorough cleaning at the start of the season, though they may show some natural lake wear. Your note helps us keep improving, and we’d love to welcome you back to the lake again!"
Wonderful stay! The lake was amazing! The back yard had tons of hang out options and fun accessories, the cabin had lots of nice space and great function! Loved the bright porch and easy living space.
A great cabin, beautifully updated and perfect for our family. Outside was a wonderful dock with many kayaks, and a pedal powered boat! This Cabin is amazing!!
Wonderful cabin on the lake with kayaks, pedal boat and plenty to entertain the kids. The wildlife and calm waters were a welcomed sight. Two adults and five kids fit well. Laundry on site is a bonus!
We made a day trip into Duluth, had a lot of fun walking around seeing Lake Superior and visiting the touristy sites but the kids could not wait to get back to our cabin and out on "our lake." We had an incredible stay.

First off, we are regular VRBO users and we realize that when this is someone's pride and joy, they may look at it unobjectively. We look at it as seasoned VRBO users. As a VRBO, certain basics are expected. First off, the premises are much smaller than you would expect from the pictures. There were only two of us and it still seemed small. The linens are in need of replacing. The beds are no better than hammocks. A deep clean is definitely in order. Also, the charge for the owners fee is excessive and unexplained. You are already charging an elevated nightly fee, so to be charged an owners fee on top of that is exorbitant. When asked if it could be removed we received no response. We paid an outrageous amount for three nights in October! Hardly tourist season! There are no services in town so you must plan and purchase groceries before arriving. We needed a local place to stay for a funeral, so we didn't have any options. But had we, we would have not chosen to stay here. Traveler beware: NOT worth the fees that are charged. And if it is a property managed by EVOLVE, don't expect high standards.

Hi Gayla, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. The homeowner would like to share the following: :
- The listing does state the exact square footage of the home, but we are sorry if this caught you off guard. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs!
- Both the linens and the mattresses are new. While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the bedding and mattresses didn't meet your preferences.
- We strive to be transparent with our guests at every stage of the booking process and do break down all rates and fees before the reservation is confirmed. The rates are carefully set for each property after a thorough analysis of the property itself and the surrounding area.
- There are two local grocery stores as well as a small market in town where guests can spend time and get food. We include a map on our listing so that guests can see the approximate location of the home before booking and provide plenty of suggestions in the listing description of nearby restaurants and attractions.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

The lake activities and the outdoors was great!
Enjoy the great outdoors! Overall the experience was great, because we spent a lot of time outside fishing and swimming. Inside is another story. The cabin had a musty and moldy smell, we had to wash the sheets when we got there! The screen doors were broken and slammed every time they were closed. No one could take a nap inside! Every room pitches a certain degree because the floors are not level. The property to the south looks like a Sanford and Sons garbage lot. When your sitting outside looking at the lake to your right is all kinds of garbage, old items left to rot. Someone needs to clean that up. Not only is it an eye sore it is a hazard for small kids wandering around. It is clearly marked Private Property so we stayed away. There was also NO LOCK on the bathroom door. Imagine 8 people and no lock on the bathroom. Plan on fishing off the pier using night crawlers. You will catch all kinds of bluegill and small perch. If you fish near the rundown pontoon boat on the South property, we did catch some bass. We also used a small white spinner lure and caught 2 nice pike and bass fishing away from the pier. Expect a lot of weeds. We also saw turtles, small garden snakes and plenty of crayfish for the youngkids to have fun with. As stated, the cabin is not what we were expecting since we have rented other cabins. This was the least maintained and it looks like they have not given it much love in many years.

Thaddeus, we're happy to hear that you had a great experience fishing and taking advantage of the cabin's lakefront location. We're sorry that you didn't enjoy the sight of neighboring properties, but of course, their maintenance is out of the control of the homeowner. Since the area is clearly marked as private property, we do not consider it a hazard in any way for our guests. However, since your stay, a fence has been built between the two properties so both sides have equal privacy. The homeowner and their cleaning service go above and beyond to ensure that the cabin is ready for each guest's arrival, and they would have been happy to assist you had you reached out at any time during your stay. Rainy weather can cause unused beds to smell musty, and the cleaner will start double checking that even the clean sheets are rewashed for guests if necessary. The homeowner takes care to properly maintain their 1920s cabin, and any requests made by past guests have always been taken care of within an hour. In the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to your guest contact or Evolve directly with any questions or concerns. We're here 7 days a week to support our travelers, and we are looking forward to helping the homeowner continue to provide the high level of service that they are known for. Best, the Evolve Team
My family stayed at the cabin over the 4th of July weekend this year. It was my husband and I, 2 adult brothers & sister in law. The location of the cabin is fantastic - very close to the village, nice location on the lake across from the island and easy to find. We rented a pontoon from the St. Croix Inn and it was very convenient to just pop down the road to pick it up and drive it over to the dock. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed and there was ample parking for our vehicles. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the summer evenings too. We did a round of golf on the Hidden Greens course and I would recommend that as well. Nice course, close to the cabin and we had a fantastic time. Overall, we had a very enjoyable weekend and would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a summer get away.
Beautiful place on the lake with anything you would ever need included:

Fantastic cabin!
The cabin was well stocked with everything necessary and then some! The cabin was beautifully decorated and very clean! The accessibility to the lake was perfect to fit our needs. The owners made every effort for our family to feel comfortable and enjoy our stay!
Had a great friends and kids get together at this cabin. It was stocked with everything we needed for cooking. There were enough dishes for us to use but we brought our own paper plates / utensils so we didn't have to take time to continuously wash dishes. The kayaks, peddle boat, row boat, as well as available life jackets of all sizes were so nice to have. We rented a pontoon one day from the St Croix Inn. The cabin has central air which keeps the lower level nice and cool but the upper room can get hot so it was great that there were plenty of fans available to use. The area around the dock was pretty weedy but that didn't seem to deter the kids from swimming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't feel like we were missing anything. It was also nice that the owner reached out before the beginning of the stay with a text so I had her contact info handy. We didn't end up needing anything but it was nice to know I could shoot a quick text if we did. All in all, great stay, would recommend!
The host was beyond amazing! The property and cabin were amazing! From little touches like popcorn and coffee, to games to play, to pictures of the host family at the cabin, you felt right at home! We have stayed at many properties and found this one to be top of the list. Kudos!!! We will definitely be back!
We had 6 adults and 4 children in their early teens and all of us had a great time! The kayak’s, paddle boards were great to have. Being so close to the lake was so nice especially for that morning coffee and watching the kids play in the water. The boat launch was close to the cabin and some of us even got to get out and golf! This cabin really had everything we needed. The owners Deann and Scott were so awesome on being responsive with anything. Their father lives down the street If we needed anything and that was great! We will be making this cabin our annual best friends and family trip! Thank you!
My family had a great time at the cabin. Owners were extremely responsive and friendly. Cabin had everything we needed and more. Next time we plan to stay longer - will definitely be back! :)
We had a great experience at the cabin in Solon springs! Great location right on the edge of town and right on the lake! Screened in porch is amazing for coffee in the morning and watching the sunrise and listening to the loons. All the amenities needed down to small shampoo and soaps if you forget yours! Lots of extra blankets and bedding! Very small space but it’s a cabin and makes it homey! We cannot wait to see the remodels to the cabin starting this week and hope to book again. Only downfall was the train tracks right up the hill and hearing them go through every 20 min or sooner since it is a main artery to get to superior.
A quaint cabin from the early 1900s on a cute lake. Wish the trip was longer but the 3 days we were there we loved all of the water toys and spacious yard. Our kids played lots of flashlight tag as we enjoyed the fire pit on the water. We ventured into town for some forgotten supplies and were able to find everything we needed. Beds were comfy and cabin was clean. Couldn't ask for more.
The only complaint would the trains. The trains run all day and night and blare their horns through town which is just up the road.
Perfect location to spend our wedding week with our family. BEAUTIFUL lakeside property! Access to awesome ATV trails, and centrally located to all fun things "up north." Clean, accommodating, and had everything we needed. Our week was cold and rainy, so we couldn't enjoy the swimming, but we had a great time relaxing and enjoying the family time. My only hint for future patrons is to bring your own kitchen gadgets you'll need to cook your own meals if you're planning to cook. We were able to go to the local store and purchase the few items that were lacking. (can opener, potato peeler, things like that.) We'd definitely stay there again!
