4,100 square feet lovely private brick 4 bedroom waterfront home directly on the James River with water access and spectacular water views. Beautiful sunrises and wildlife to view daily. Great quiet location near many tourist destinations including Busch Gardens, Water Country, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Chippokes State Park. Lovely Historic Smithfield is 25 min away. Our property is waterfront just steps away from the water. Our property is large -your fellow travel partners will have plenty of privacy. There are two kitchens one kitchen on the main floor and one on the garden level. Children are welcome. High Chair and Pack and Play available on request.

Family Vaca

Great place to stay with family while enjoying all the area has to offer. The ferry is close by so makes that an easy commute. Enjoyed the home and the beautiful view of the river! Kids had a great time exploring the water’s edge.

Virginia getaway

Picturesque Perfection

We wanted a quiet location that was more locals than tourists, but still close to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. The location was perfect for fishing and kayaking, while only a 20 min ferry ride into Williamsburg. The house was big enough to accommodate 3 families with plenty of private and shared space. The house is quiet yet close enough to shopping, site seeing and historical attractions. Would definitely recommend.

Girls’ Trip

Beautiful views

Excellent property, clean with beautiful views. We sat outside every morning and saw beautiful sunrises and the moon rising over the James River in the evening when we got home from sight-seeing. It is close to Williamsburg by ferry which is right up the road. Rene made sure we arrived and got into the house and answered our questions quickly. There was so much to see we didn't get to everything, We are already talking about the next time we will visit..

Stunning property in a beautiful location

This home is spacious and beautifully decorated and has lots of thoughtful touches to make a stay there very relaxing. The location is fabulous - we loved watching the fish jumping & the ospreys catching fish for their young in their nests on the nearby boathouses. It was very easy to catch the ferry across to Jamestown and we loved visiting the historic sites there and at Colonial Williamsburg. Busch Gardens was excellent as well. Only drawback - no local shops to speak of so stock up in Smithfield or Jamestown. Rene was an excellent host - responding very quickly to questions.

Just like home

We had a few obstacles along the way, my mother was hospitalized along our trip. We were 4 and a half hours away from our vacation destination.Rene stayed in contact even though she was on her own vacation.You could not ask for a more perfect host,she is a genuine good soul. The house was perfect and did not disappoint! When we finally arrived we were welcomed to a clean home that had everything we needed and then some. It was so relaxing to be able to unwind and not want for anything! I would recommend this home and host to anyone without hesitation. She sets the bar for VRBO!

Wonderful House with Beautiful Views!

We had a great stay here. The house is fully equipped with everything. We really enjoyed the somewhat limited views we had (due to weather) and the native birds. I’m sure if we had some clear days, the sunrises would have been spectacular. The kids enjoyed the swing and picking seashells. We had one day of complete rain so we really appreciated the spacious layout for the kids to have their own space when they needed it. We spent almost all of our time in Williamsburg which was a short ferry ride across the river followed by ~10 min drive. The house is directly across the river from Historic Jamestowne and you can see the fireworks show at Busch Gardens Fri-Sun. I think the house is great for a relaxing vacation with easy access to all that Williamsburg has to offer. Thank you Rene!

Best of the best!

This was by far the best rental home we have stayed in! Its location is ideal, as it is extremely close to the ferry(very reliable), yet also quiet and surrounded by nature. We spent most afternoons outside with our young children swinging, fishing, kayaking, watching the birds and geese, and having a regular visit from a few hummingbirds at the feeder. In the evenings my husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck. Pure relaxation. The home is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Kitchen is FULLY stocked for cooking, ample linens and towels, paper products, etc. Rene checked in with us before, during, and at the end of our stay. We are generally ready to go home by the end of our vacation, but in this case, we could have added another week! We definitely plan to return in the future. What a gem!

Wonderful vacation on the James River

This was a 5 star home for sure! From the moment we turned into the driveway and were hit with a breathtaking view of the James River, we immediately knew this was going to be a perfect vacation. The home was immaculately clean and had every amenity we could imagine. We could have never left the house and been happy. The view from the deck over the river was amazing. We spent every morning watching beautiful sunrises (we were lucky to have every day cloud free) and evenings watching the river ebb and flow. Rene was super easy to reach and responded promptly to all our requests and questions. One of our favorite evenings was the one we spent around the fire pit. Plan ahead and bring extra wood with you if able. The ferry is moments away and was super convenient for getting to and from the historical areas. Note - the weekends were busy at the ferry, so plan ahead in case you have to wait for a second ship. We are looking forward to returning in the spring to this lovely home. Thank you Rene!!!

The home is spacious & well maintained. Beds and living room furniture are very comfortable. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen had plenty of dishes & other equipment. The only complaint is most of the windows/doors in the living/ kitchen area dont have shades. The morning sun is blinding in that space. The view is amazing though! My sisters & I all agreed this was our favorite VRBO ever! Oh, & Rene was great to work with.

We booked this property for our annual siblings trip and it did not disappoint! It backs up to the James River, and is very relaxing to sit on the deck or patio and watch the birds, and fish jumping out of the water. There were three couples and each of us basically had a floor to ourselves. The lower level is a small apartment, so that was an added bonus. The house is very well appointed, and has everything you would need for a family or group getaway. While there is not a ton of stuff to do in Surry, Williamsburg is just a ferry ride away (we all enjoyed that). I did not have the need to communicate with the owner much during our stay, but she was extremely responsive with the couple of questions I had, leading up to it. I would highly recommend this property! It truly was wonderful!

We had a fantastic stay! The house is gorgeous and we loved spending our evenings on and along the river. There was lots of space for our group of 8 to have their own rooms and bathrooms. Using the ferry (which was only 5 minutes away) to get across to Jamestown and Williamsburg was easy and greatly enjoyed by my children. We hope to stay here again in the future!

EXCELLENT LOCATION

This is the second year we have stayed here. Superb views over the James river. Quiet location. Very near Scotland Jamestown ferry. Free and one of the US best trips.There were only 3 of us so the house was spacious and we had a bathroom each. All the facilities you need , Good wifi and Tubi TV. Overall excellent

Perfect Place!

We stayed here for spring break with our extended family. Everyone loved it! The views of the James River are wonderful. We saw a bald eagle fly over with a fish in its talons while we were sitting on the couch in the living room! Everyone had their own space but we could all hang out together in the common areas. The ferry is literally around the corner and getting over to Jamestown, Williamsburg, or Busch Gardens is easy peasy. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate most of our meals there. She also provides plenty of dish, laundry, and hand soap. This is such a gem of a place for a very reasonable price! Would stay here again in a heartbeat if I’m ever back in this area.

Fantastic experience

The house is ideally situated on the James River, with beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. The layout of the house itself is perfect for gathering for meals and games, as well as for individuals to retreat for quiet time. The kitchen is well-stocked, with no gaps in supplies. And the homeowner is incredibly thoughtful and responsive, including dealing perfectly with the ups-and-downs of some weather issues. We are looking forward to many future stays at this property! Quick Getaway

The property was just as pictured. It was four of us and so spacious that we did not use an entire floor. The surrounding was pretty and peaceful. There was not any close shopping including grocery stores so stop before you arrive. However, we enjoyed the ferry ride across the river! We will definitely like to return when it gets warmer.
