About this property
Copper Top Cabin - 3 BR, 2 BA, HT, GR, Near Ski Area
Ready to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world? Come stay at the top of the mountain at beautiful Copper Top Cabin, a 3-bedroom, 2 bath log home, just minutes (and we do mean minutes!) from Cataloochee Ski Area. Sleeping 8, this custom-built property offers plenty of space for the whole family. Sitting at over 4,400 feet in elevation and on over 4 wooded acres, you’ll feel away from it all with its stunning long range Smoky Mountain views. And when you’re ready to rejoin the real world, Maggie Valley, Waynesville and Asheville are all within easy drives. This cabin is the best of both worlds and perfect for families or friends seeking a relaxing retreat.
Once inside, the main floor opens to a large open living room featuring beautiful stone wood burning fireplace with plenty of comfortable seating, featuring overstuffed couches and chairs. Adjacent to the living space is a 6-person high top dining table for meals or family game time. The open kitchen is fully stocked with your favorite cooking utensils and appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen on the main floor is the primary queen bedroom, primary full bath with tub shower combo and adjacent washer and dryer laundry area.
Heading upstairs, you’ll find a lofted sitting area with a large pull-out queen sleeper sofa, overstuffed chair and the most unobstructed mountain view in the house. A perfect place for quiet time or to catch the sunset. A queen bedroom and full bath with jetted tub and wooden vanity are adjacent to the sitting area.
Entering the lower level, you will immediately feel welcomed by an additional living space plus fully stocked game room complete with pool table, foosball table, darts and arcade game that has access to 17,000 games. Also on the lower level is an additional twin bedroom with two twin beds.
Outside, the afternoon sun will catch you napping or reading your favorite book from the large wraparound deck as you smell dinner cooking on the grill. Give yourself time to finish that last chapter and a glass of your favorite beverage, though! Spend the rest of your evening under the stars enjoying the bubbling hot tub or gathering around the fire pit with chairs.
Three flat screen TVs, central air and heat, washer, dryer, wood-burning fireplace, firepit, hot tub, high-speed internet and Wi-Fi complete the package. This special mountain getaway with its incredible location and views will give you lots of memories to take home, any season of the year!
This property is not pet friendly. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. The approach to this property is steep on a fully paved road. All-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive would be required to access this home during snow or ice events. Snow tires and chains as well would be required in winter driving conditions. Of note, Fie Top Road, where this property is located, is the best maintained road in the county during winter driving events to allow skiers access to the ski area which just over a mile from this property.
Copper Top Cabin is just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This home is just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas.
You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).
