Big let down
We were so hopeful for this rental but it was so unmaintained. Everything was dirty. Multiple fans were broken. A bed was falling apart right and the host didn't seem to want to try to help the situation. They just asked questions about the broken stuff. Almost like they were uninterested in helping. Great view tho.
Cabin was perfect location as described to West Gate Yellowstone. We were located far enough from other cabins to allow privacy. Room was perfect for our family's. Well stocked. Maybe alittle to overstocked from past family's as they had so many items left in fridge out of date and took up needed space. Asked for two request, one out of managements control which was WiFi. They did have someone come in but was on last day and an hr before we all left.Would of been nice if sooner but we are on vacation and NEEDED to be unplugged. I offered to weed whack before we came and said it would be done.Which wasn't. However it was so warm we didn't worry about getting to horseshoe pits. Was not a deal breaker. So basically all needs were met. Clean Beds, Hot Showers, Tub. Laundry Accessibility. Roomy, Stocked Kitchen. Would we stay again ? Absolutely!
Our group of 11 had a fantastic, relaxing stay at this quiet, secluded cabin. It was clean and remarkably well-stocked, which made our trip much smoother. We especially appreciated the ample paper products, shampoo, and body wash in the showers, and a thoughtful supply of cleaning essentials, mosquito spray, and bear spray.. The kitchen was also well-equipped with spices and even some useful dry goods left by previous guests. The hosts were incredibly responsive, promptly answering our questions both before and during our arrival, which was very reassuring. The cabin's location is excellent, just 30 minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance, making daily park visits convenient.A few helpful pointers for future guests:There's a small store at the RV park next door where you can grab staples like eggs and bread. This saved us a trip into town! There is an access road to Henry’s Lake. While there's no air conditioning (and as my husband wisely pointed out, you typically don't need it in Idaho!), fans were provided for comfort. Just note that a couple of windows were a bit stubborn and didn't open. The doors have a slightly tricky locking mechanism, but the instructions provided on the door are clear and easy to follow. We were also very grateful that the hosts delivered a dumpster during our stay, which was a huge convenience for our large group. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin and found it perfectly spacious for everyone.
Everything about this cabin was amazing. The location was perfect for visiting Yellowstone and it had amazing views at the cabin. The host was phenomenal and couldn’t have asked for anything else.
Our stay was wonderful. The area was great with an amazing view. The home was spacious and cozy for our traveling party of 9 people. The game room in the basement worked out great for the kids. The back doors were a bit tricky and we had a hard time keeping them closed (that would be my only 'negative' comment, and it honestly wasn't that big of a deal for us).
We had 15 family members stay here while we visited Yellowstone NP. It was 30 minutes to the park entrance and you went through West Yellowstone which had several eateries. The cabin was spacious and had great views of the Idaho mountains. Well stocked kitchen.
We could not have been happier with the cabin and its amenities. There was space for everyone and plenty to keep us occupied when we were in from our adventures during the day. The property manager was just a message away, and they helped a lot with notes in the cabin as well.
When we first got to the house there was a dead rat in the bathroom so the entire downstairs smelled of dead rat. Mouse traps everywhere. Outside yard looked unkept. The separate bathroom downstairs shower needed cleaning. The hot water heater kept cycling off. So we had to constantly reset it or take cold showers. The internet was horrible. Finally got someone out to repair on day 3. And for some reason they don’t keep a trash cart there so they want the renters to take garbage to landfill, which is 3 per trip. But all the neighbors have carts… For the price we paid none of this should have occurred. And the light switches and the control panel in kitchen were a huge pain in the tail! Basement temp was soo hot, and we never could figure out how to fix it! Needless to say it was a disappointment. Owners need to address several issues!
We had such a wonderful time snowmobiling and cross country skiing from this beautiful cabin. We enjoyed the cabin as well. It was a perfect cozy place of relaxation and fun. The cabin was well stocked and well taken care of.
Lots of space of 8 adults in our party. Had wonderful time during our 3 nights stay. Very well equipped and stocked kitchen, spacious living and dining areas. Surroundings exactly as as seen in the pictures.
Couple of issues: Outside lights at the front entrance won't light up, which left us in the dark as we park and enter. Many expired items still stocked in the kitchen that are well past the expiry dates need to be thrashed.
Pros: excellent communication with host, very close to Yellowstone, kitchen was well stocked, lots of space for our group of 10. Peaceful and quiet area.
Cons: house definitely could be cleaned better. Not sure if the kitchen was done before we arrived as the previous renter’s food was still in the freezer, fridge and microwave were dirty inside, dishes were still in the dishwasher and we found several pots/pans in the cupboards that we needed to wash before using.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the cabin worked well for our group.
No TV upstairs, no hand rail leading into the house. Wasn’t great for elderly parents trying to get in and around. Not enough pillow cases for pillows. Bathroom tiles missing in the shower. Didn’t seem like the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed.
Overall the place was really roomy. I felt like the picture didn't do it justice. It was a really nice cabin. It was well stocked. The kitchen was great! The beds were really comfortable. The game area for the kids was amazing as well. We even used the fire pit in the back and they had plenty of wood for us to use. But the longer we stayed there, the more we noticed that things were broken or not working. Some windows didn't open and they had tape holding them up. Tiles in some of the bathrooms were broken. The doors had a really hard time staying closed. We did enjoy our stay. These things are minor, but overall it was a great place to stay for 5 days.

Bring Mouse Traps
Overall it worked great. We found cat/dog food in the kitchen drawers upon arriving, and crumbs of all sorts stored in the couch cushions. The double doors were a little tricky to deal with, but we figured it out.
The biggest complaint is that there were so many mice. Every night they were coming out of the walls and running around the house. We could hear them working away in the walls at night. It made it hard for many of our party to feel comfortable sleeping anywhere in the house because there were mice spotted in every bedroom and bathroom.
There were no mouse traps to be found so if you are bothered by the mice then I suggest not staying here OR bring your own set of mouse traps and peanut butter!
Otherwise it was an okay place and worked okay for what we needed.

Mouse house
House had a mouse in it. Owner was slow to respond 10 hours, and then told us we could just set traps ourselves. What???
Weeds everywhere 2-3 ft high - even across front of house.
Open plumbing in downstairs bathrooms with holes open to wall for mice to come and go.
Unfinished bathrooms and closets in both downstairs rooms.
Smoke detector no battery in downstairs bedroom.
Downstairs bedrooms overhead lights quit working on second night.
Upstairs overhead lights in bedrooms won’t come on after 2nd night.
Coffee pot in kitchen was filthy.
No Kleenex anywhere in house.
Outlets - some don’t work (half of an outlet does, other half does not.
Wi-Fi does not work - rebooted numerous times and speed never reached past 4 mb/s - totally useless!!!
BBQ grill is total grease and caked on food - disgusting.
Squeaky doors in bedroom bathroom - wake up spouse with every opening.
Only window in bunk room is broken and won’t open - no fresh air in room what so ever.
Outside deck chairs and tables filthy and wood table is so chipped in paint no one would ever use it.
Weeds around camp fire pit so high it would start a grass fire if you tried to get to it.
This house SHOULD NOT BE LISTED ON Vrbo!!!
Nice cabin. Great location and nice size for our big group. However, cabin was on the older side, so a lot of things were broken/not working (fans, oven, beds etc.) Hosts were responsive and helpful to solve our issues in a timely manner though. Additionally, cabin could have been maintained better and kept cleaner (cobwebs outside, some appliances were dirty, left behind food in fridge, etc.). Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed our stay.
Lovely home, fabulous location and quiet stay. Deer passing through the property accompany the spring birds' songs.
High-tech lights, fans, outlets and heating provided some challenges, but were quickly resolved with great communication with the host.
Location was amazing! Million dollar views. Beautiful home. Large enough for all of us. Just a few items that need to be addressed by owner. There was literally 5 drops of dish soap, only 1 dishwasher pod. The door on the fridge has a malfunction that makes it diffucult to close. The locks on the doors are extremely confusing. The kig room bathtub drain needs to be looked at, it drains super slow. We werent anle to enjoy the firepit or the horseshoe pits out back because the weeds were too tall. In all fairness. There has been a lot of rain lately. The one thing we thought was unfair was that we were required to take all our trash to the dump. Which is about 15 miles away. And a minium of $3.00. I believe that should be included in our stay. Also needs to be checked. The toilets in both upstairs bathrooms run constantly, you have to make sure to jiggle the handle or it wont stop.
On a more positive note. There were plenty of things to do. Basement well stocked with movies, games, and fun things to do. Plenty of bedding and towels. It truly was a beautuful place to stay and I would recommend it.

Why they chose this property
We LOVE Henry's Lake, Island Park and being near the West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. We are close to the highway but definitely far enough away to only hear the wind in the trees, hawks and eagles flying over and an occasional sighting of Moose and antelope in our front and back yard.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique with 3 Large ensuites and a 4th bunk bedroome and it sleeps 16 in those rooms and an additional 2 on a new pullout couch in the main floor living area. We have a BIG WONDERFUL view of the Sunset off the back deck during the summer months with only a 30 minute drive into West Yellowstone.
