Honestly, trash was overflowing trash was falling from the trash cans the window units do not keep the place cool down. The master bed is very uncomfortable.

Firstly walking up to the front door and finding utility disconnect notice on the door is the best way to start a trip. The air conditioner in the living room only cut on for 2 mins at a time and never cooled off the living room. Informed them of both the ants I saw and AC issues. They did come and replace the window unit by lunch the next day. The ants are unreal. Place a fork in the sink and the ants were on it in less than 15 mins. My niece was sitting on the floor putting legos together on the coffee table and kept getting bit by the ants. There is a towel stuffed inside a dryer vent hole in the master bedroom. Master bed is so hard and uncomfortable it felt better to sleep on the couch. There is only a fitted sheet on the mattress, no mattress cover. Once we started complaining then the communication started failing. The outside is cute. The beach access and views are great but dealing with the other issues definitely not worth it.

Tiny ants everywhere, rugs not vacuumed, no mattress pads on beds & only a thin sheet, dents in wall because no door stop, light switch cover hanging, several outlets didn't work, threshold to RR off/trip hazard, severe leak from living room ceiling light fixture flooded kitchen, dining room, RR, etc. Reported all. Never heard back from anyone. Had 2 feet of water down below to wade thru each day. Property needs fill dirt & the above repairs/attention ASAP. Had to make sure all my belongings didn't have the ants before packing & bringing home.

Great location on Ocean Avenue!

Great beach house location on Ocean Avenue. Walk and drive access to beach just steps away. Walkable to Seahorse Restaurant and a coffee shop. A/C worked very well and very cold inside. Ocean view from patio and can heat the waves coming in too. Would definitely stay here again.

First visit to Surfside

I came here with my friend since high school and we each brought one of our adult children. We were thrilled that the little house was so close to the beach. We arrived as trash service was emptying the bin next to the stairs. It was horrid smelling, but we had to unpack the car. We agreed this should have been taken care of before our arrival.Later, we had some issues with the AC and waited the full 24 hours (as required in the listing) before saying anything. Repairmen came the following morning and installed 3 window units which ate into our schedule that day. We attempted to sleep through two hot nights in the house. Needless to say, we didn't sleep much. We were frustrated, but happy to be together at the beach, and thankful they made the temperature in the house cooler.We loved the little purple house and its location, just wish it was better stocked with things we needed in the kitchen as we made most of our meals. We never found the pool or a charcoal grill. So, we didn't prepare our grill items we brought with us. We made several trips into town as we discovered things we needed. Some of the things we purchased, we left in the house for the next guests. There is a huge need for a place to put clothing as there were no rods or hangers in the closet; we used the futon.We had a good time in Surfside and we made memories we'll hold dear. The home was fine for the four of us. Hopefully, we will get to come again next year and find these little things fixed.

Great stay for a short vacation. The only complaint I have is the swarm of mosquitos downstairs, needs to be sprayed.
