Our entire stay was magical from start to finish—even though we were in Maui during the worst storm in over 100 years. We traveled with seven teenagers, and every single one of them absolutely loved the property. The rain didn’t stop them from spending hours in the pool.The house is incredibly private and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need, truly the most well-appointed vacation home we’ve ever rented. It’s spacious, comfortable, and was perfect for our group of nine, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and spread out.We’re already looking at dates to return next year. Thank you for helping create such unforgettable memories for our family!

So beautiful and perfect for my family.

We spent Christmas at this beautiful piece of Maui. It’s a bit far from the beaches but we got used to the drive very quickly. It’s the perfect place for a large family that loves to share time together. Will definitely come again.

A private tropical paradise!

This was such an amazing property, and so much better than the photos. The living space was a perfect blend of having private quarters away from the main living space, as well as a nice open area to be together. The pool and facilities were fantastic, and we felt like we were staying at a hotel resort, but with no crowds, and no one to share it with except for our own family! endless areas to do yoga, read, and enjoy the sun. We will definitely be coming back.

Magnificent home on Maui

Our large group of family and friends had the time of our lives at Pililani. Cathy and Melody made everything easy from booking to checkout, and we cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and patience. You will not be disappointed in any way with this home, that is, until you have to leave. Mahalo!

Loved the House!

We had a wonderful time on our holiday at the pililani house. It exceeded our expectations. We loved the way the house was set up and so open. We currently don’t have any vacation plans for next year but I have you saved in my contacts for when we make it back to maui. We did a lot of things when we were in maui. Road to hana was really cool. I would recommend to take the back way to the road to hana. The views and quiet road was so nice. The crater is a must see watching the sun rise. Mama’s fish house was amazing a little pricey but by far the best tasting fish I have ever ate. Shopping we went to front street, South kihei , and whaler’s village. All had good shopping and different stores.

Breathtaking Landscaping

The landscaping was beautiful. The house was the perfect size for the seven of us from three different families. Wonderfully apportioned kitchen. Great to have a private pool, though chilly in November. The only thing that kept this from being an excellent review is that the furniture is horribly uncomfortable. We spent evenings at the house, and it was impossible for anyone, including children, to be comfortable on the furniture. This is a remote location and you are 30 minutes from most anything, but it is a bit noisy in the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone who doesn’t plan on trying to gather or watch movies, etc. in the house.

We loved Pililani!

Thank-you for inquiring about our stay. I don't know what I'm more impressed with... Pililani or your Company! Both have absolutely exceeded our expectations. The property is surreal! I had to ask my husband to "pinch me" several times a day b/c I could not believe the beauty before my eyes. Norm and the rest of your team were amazing to deal with! You are there for any questions or concerns but we were left with complete privacy. What a luxury to have that space and time to spend as a family. THANK-YOU! We hope to return next spring, along with my In-Laws. We have already decided that we will be booking through your company. A couple of our favorite places were the La'a Kea farm stand on Baldwin for organic produce. Veg Out has FANTASTIC food every single time. Nuka was a nice new treat for us. We were once again impressed with the Pukalani Superette and the Rodeo General Store deli. We love everything about Haiku and the area always affords us true relaxation. I want to write a great review on VRBO but I get nervous about telling too many people about the most magical place on Earth (just kidding... sort of). I will write a very positive review of our experience. Our only suggestion for the property might be a basketball goal/net at the tennis court. My husband and boys drove into Makawao everyday to play at the Community Center. A court on site would have been wonderful. That is all the constructive critcism we could come up with and even that seems frivolous as a write it?

Great property but....

We enjoyed our stay at Pililani House. Central location, not close to anything but never far from everything. Lots of room for our family to each have their own space. The furniture is a bit dated and in need of some updating but worked fine. Pool was a bit on the cold side as it's not heated. Tennis court is in great condition and even had pickle ball. Something to note. The area has hundreds of wild chickens and roosters. The roosters start at 4:30 AM so not much sleeping in. The house directly below the house raises and or trains pit bulls (lots of them). They howl and bark a lot. We did have a few sketchy people around the outside of the property that made us a bit nervous but nothing bad happened. Coffee maker didn’t work but a new one was dropped off within hours. Great hosts and the house was very clean.

The hosts are extremely responsive to any issues (e.g. my mother couldn't get the safe open and they sent someone within an hour!) . If the ad intrigues you, your expectations will be met.

Fabulous Family Destination

This house accommodated our group of 10 beautifully. It provided wonderful spaces to enjoy time together, as well as opportunities to read a book or catch a quick nap. Day trips for snorkeling, scuba diving, and viewing from the top of Haleakalā were facilitated by the location. We loved the pool and enjoyed many competitive games on the court. We were so appreciative of the excellent and timely attention provided by Cathy and Melody. They set the bar for dedication to quality service. Thanks for ensuring a wonderful visit.

Truly a piece of heaven!

We loved our stay at Pililani. The property was incredible. My kids loved exploring the ground: catching geckos & toads, feeding the koi, swimming & tennis . . . they were so happy there (and the adults had a chance to relax!). I loved my sunrise morning yoga on the patio next to the koi pond. It cools down in the evenings, we slept with windows open and were very comfortable. Never missed A/C. Loved the occasionally misty rain. It felt magical! While it's a bit of a drive to get to most places, it is centrally located if you want to "explore it all." Nothing is too far away. We spent a day on the road to Hana, a day on the volcano, a day on the north shore, snorkeling trip to Molokini, and two west shore days. Loved that we could visit Twin Falls separately (on our north shore day) and really take our time there because it's so close, and then have more time for other activities on our road to Hana day. Pililani had things that were very useful, not sure if they were provided by the host or left behind by other travelers: pool noodles, beach chairs, a cooler, boogie boards, some snorkeling equipment, etc. My daughter loved picking oranges and making fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast (she'd never had that before!) and other smoothies. All in all, if we could afford it, we'd return here EVERY YEAR. It's my favorite vacation rental I've ever stayed in.

Private Oasis

We absolutely loved our stay! The layout of the house allows for privacy, but also offers great gathering spaces. We spent most of our time walking the grounds, swimming in the pool, and relaxing. Although there is not A/C the house cools down well in the evening. The property managers were amazing to work with, very responsive, and hospitable. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolute paradise!

We loved this place! It was large enough to comfortably sleep our family group of 8 adults, one teen, and one toddler. The house was immaculate and the grounds were incredible with ponds, fruit trees, topical plants, a pool, with plenty of space to enjoy the sun, cook outside, and enjoy it as our own private resort. It also had a hot tube, sauna, tennis courts, and two grills. Sometimes when looking at properties online the pictures are filtered and cleaned-up to show “the best parts” of the place. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the place lived up to the pictures and it’s description. We had plenty to do around the island but especially enjoyed our downtime on the property. It was hard to leave when our vacation came to a close and look forward to staying there again!!

Private, perfect paradise

Our primary goals for this stay were to relax, feel safe and comfortable, and enjoy outdoor life as much as possible. We couldn't have guessed how truly perfect our visit would be. The home is spacious, comfortable, and private. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor cooking facilities. The location made it easy to commute to Paia, Makawao, the road to Hana, Haleakala, and even Lahaina (further out, but an easy drive). We were traveling with 5 adults and two tiny humans (3 and under 1) and loved every moment. The property management company was supportive and helpful ahead of our travel and provided prompt responses when we reached out while on site. We would stay again in a heart beat (and hope to make our visits annual tradition).

Tranquil Home Away from Home

Great property

You are lost in your own world at this property. Large home even larger grounds. The two masters are great for take trips with extended family and friends. Nice small town vibe with lots of shops and farmers markets. Close to the road to Hanna by far my favorite part of the island. Also pretty close to the airport so supplies are not to far. No a/c but it opens up pretty good and there are lots of fans. Very old Hawaii vibe. Loved it would stay again 100%.

A Little Slice of Paradise

Very nice property that is tucked away in the hills. Clean house and well cared for grounds. Was a little concerned as we discovered (after arriving) that the property did not have air conditioning. Turned out fine - There is always a slight breeze, so opening the windows allows for comfort even during warm, sunny days. Cools off nicely at night. If there was one nitpick about the property, I'd say it was the WiFi. Although it was a vacation for the four couples and two kids that visited, a couple of us still had to occasionally work. The internet speed was adequate, but once you leave the inside of the main house, there is no coverage. Not outside or in either of the guest houses. Would strongly recommend putting in a WiFi system with full coverage of the property (including the pool area, etc.). It isn't very expensive and would be very helpful to many future guests. See you next time, Pililani!
